As far as I know, no one knows for sure as of yet, there has been much speculation tho,

(C)ivilian (Def)ence Pistol, or (C)orellian (De)fence (F)orce Pistolare a couple I could see as being possible.

Again take that with a grain of salt, 'cause I am not sure.

I would no be so certain that it stands for nothing. Many of the weapon exist in the PnP version of starwars with longer correct names. Such as the SR combat pistol, that should rightfully be names the "Imperial Munitions" Short Range Combat Pistol, or the Sorosuub Stormtrooper One E11.

I remember a thread about this on the beta boards where one guy suggested Certification DEficient Firearm. There was never an official response and I don't think it matches up with anything in the extended SW universe stuff. Maybe it's some dev inside joke, or maybe it's just random.

you know i have never thought of this? i do regret now not going to Gollan Arms as my company name instead of just slapping my toon's name on it, or name my toon Gollan since i wanted to be a WS right off the bat, i wanted to be a WS and DE and have a legion of yub yub droids........... ahhh the disappointments never end
