Erp. Capnkill's point was about PvP (which is also good
). I meant to reference GoldMemberBria's point about not needing full mastery.
When was the last time someone requested an Edit button? Am I too late?

I'm Teras Kasi Master, Master Fencer and i just hit Master Swordsman about 30mins ago.
My problem is is that i want a vendor which will involve giving up one of these professions to get it.
I want to be able to hunt in all the dungeons still and have this vendor so i can sell the items that i get from it, and so it can act as a pickup point for auctioned stuff.
Currently im thinking of giving up TKM, but keeping the meditate tree(invaluable), but i've never been to a dungeon (corvette, DWB, geos) or fought Nightsisters without TKM doing the damage.
I suppose i really want to know if Swordsman compares to TKA when fighting the high level mobs.

Um...haha ....hahaha.....hahahahahaha.
not to be mean toa TK. but a master swordsman with a decent hammer or scythe will outdamage two TKMs on high lvl mobs. Swords does not have alot of teir own defenses we mostly dabble in another proffesion, like TK 4003 or master fencer is what you see alot of us do. A master swordsman can take 99.9% of mobs in the game, especially when combines with med/doc or TK/fencer. In PvP a speed capped swordsman is nigh impossible to defeat. Especially if they have a exceptional looted PH or jsut a good ackly hammer. (Hard to contend with a 1k+ hammer that swings at your head once a second)
short answer.
the only proffesion that can come close to tanking with us are pikeman. TKs can tank, but they dont have the damage output. Same with fencers.

Keep the master fencer for the defences, and the meditate from TKA. Get Doc buffs, power boost, get your brandy and arisa (sp?) ready and u are good to go. I generally use a macro that has CoB, intimidate, area att. 3, and sweep2. then just run into a group opf whatever u want to kill (Nightsisters, genos...pretty much everything) and let the slaughter begin. Go out and hit NS around the stronghold POI. the only one u have to watch out for are the elders (not worth the time, they drop crap usually and it take about 30 min to solo with the PH) and collect the loot. But that is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I went to dathomir today and it looks like im doing what you suggested, swordsman definatly seems strong enough. got 2 crystals and a Skill mod lance in about an hour so that wasnt too bad.
Thankyou once again.

Ok, my first jedi I gave as a birthday gift to my rl friend because I was quitting. Well of course I decided to come back, and I'm bout halfway done with my village grind. But anyway, I was on hardship leave from the army on a special permission due to some family instances (no-one else to take care of them) but are well now and I've been reactivated, and ship back out in 45 days. Since hearing this, I actually havn't logged back on swg because I didn't see the use in grinding, but when I do get situated and back in the states I'll have my pc in the barracks... So to you jedi, would you give up on it all together, or keep going and then pick up when you had the chance? I didn't really want to post this in the FS forum because most of them don't really know what it's like for jedi yet, but we do. Jus curious, this one got me stumped.

Since the troops have computer on them "watched mail-call on Histroy channle" Just install SWG on your pack and since its connected to the net. You can play SWG with that little view screen wile you protect your country. But I would get back to SWG when you can.

Ya I thought of that, when I was deployed I took some courses online on the laptop the gov. gave me and thought about loading some softwhere, but I really don't think my lt. would be happy if that got around to him.
Hell he might wanna use it all the time...

I wouldn't put that grind on anyone... it's horrid... especially since I refuse to go commando for it. Besides he's been havin loads of fun on his jedi... at least his main gives me free buffs in my current credit crises

My trouble is choosing my last level 4 box....If I choose celerity I get FR2 and imp suppression which according to some sources are good in pvp. But on the other hand If I don't choose synergy I might get my but handed to me when I get into the frs because I don't have force shield.
Can anyone advice me what to do here??
