What I would suggest is to E-Mail every person who buys a weapon from your vendor, and tell them you will give them a free powerup, and then send them the powerup.

Of course, also keep your vendor well stocked, that way after that first powerup wears off, they'll come back for more

I've been selling those 32% / 15% powerups on the bazaar for about 500 cr a piece, they sell pretty well. (I keep the good ones (32% weapon speed) for myself though )

I have been including powerups on grenades. I think that is a service for the buyer since it is hard to find both grenades and powerups.

I think it is deceptive and also limits the sell of your weapons. Deceptive for the buyer to get the real stats. When I was a rifleman, I bought one with a powerup and knew it had a powerup on it. I was in a hurry, it was a replacement T21, and took the weapon. After the powerup wore off I realized what a piece of junk I had bought. Since then, noone from my guild or any friends that I have will buy from that person. Had the weapon been un-powered up, I might have bought the weapon looking at the bad stats and thought that was okay or I might have declined to buy it but returned to that vendor another day. It will limit your sells, just as someone pointed out, because the powerup might be powered increectly for that person.

I do a brisk powerup business on the bazaar strictly as advertising. My name is on them and the description gives waypoints to my stores. I sell them pretty cheap for that reason alone. I may actually have to raise the prices because a full bazaar load will sell out in a day. I also keep plenty on my vendors and they sell out all the time as well.

BUT I'd never put one on a gun for sale.

Even with the main stats as part of the weapon and the description telling what stats have been modified it's a bad idea. Unfortunately the literacy of the customer base is - um how do I put this nicely - questionable at times. I feel the same about sliced weapons. I have a deal with a smuggler friend and do brisk sales in sliced goods. BUT not on the same vendor as my regular stock. The vendor is named "Sliced Weapons". The ad barking informs the customer that everything on the vendor is sliced. Since all my weapons are named with the primary stats the customer can compare the description to the name and tell the level of the slice. I've yet to have a complaint.

Anyway, powerups are cheap to make and the customers like them. I always recommend a particular kind when talking to a customer and finding out their level and class. Since they can burn through a crate or two in a day they end up returning to get more because my price is so good. Of course they have to browse through my fine selection of weapons at the same time. Works for me!

This isEXACTLY why I would never put a power-up on a weapon! I don't sell juk but I want the customer to know exactly how good the weapon they are buying from me is. Your reputation is EVERYTHING.

No gloss, no frill, no pretty wrapping, just good quality weapons.

Just like a weaponsmith who sells sliced weapons without letting the buyer know. Powerups to show up on an examined weapon. However, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the window to see it.

Also, people can view it as an attempt to cover up sub par quality weapons.

I would consider this deceptive and wouldnot buy weapons from anyone who engaged in this practice.

Good idea Xieflow. I've received emails after buying stuff before,and i've intended to do it myself, but I never actually have.

When I sell stuff in person I like to give a crate of 5 powerups with the gun. I don't tell them about it before, I just give it to them with the gun. I find this warrants good tips after the fact.

This was exactly what I ws concerned would happen. Players alot of time only look at the damage output and speed of weapons and dont really look closely enough at all the info.

Im amazed at the selective hearing (or seeing) of people. You wouldn't believe how many /tells I get from people each day asking how much I charge for "a really good so-and-so" when they are standing right in front of my vendor with the price listed there.

I've decided to just stick the powerup vendor right next to my weapons vendor with a customized ad bark explaining the virtues of my powerups.

Seems to work pretty good so far.
