Actually weapon experimentation tapes don't have any bearing on the Damage or Speed output of the gun. The quality of the materials is still thedeciding factor on how a gun turns out. The experimentation tapes give you an extra couple of points to put into Durability, Range or Efficiency, which is the last thing customers look at in most cases.
