In my opinion, each pearl and crystal should have it's own damage type. Just like determining color, the last crystal/pearl used would determine the damage type of the saber. Here's an example I just photoshopped.

Exactly... Plasma or whatever.. It should be Heavy armor piercing and no one should be able to resist it, OR, why not give armorsmiths new experimentation abilities allowing them to use special attachments and schematics to raise thier armors to that level.

Things to think about.

I agree that sabers should have plasma as a damage type, and AP3 as well, but if they did this, then they should drop the damage done significantly to avoid one-shot kills. I don't want my saber to be so utterly powerful that I can wade through a sea of rancor doing 5k-10k damage to them per swing. A really good 5th generation saber can be around 2500-3000 damage just using autoattack.

Use some specials, go up against light armoured foes, and you see how that could seriously outbalance the weapon. But if the damage was lowered it might be possible.

Well if any of you ever play paper RPGs... both versions of the Star Wars RPG have LSs ignoring armor ratings.

According to Kotor only cortosis metal can stop a lightsaber blade.

Kinetic damage is completely stupid.

lol plasma? do you guys even know what your saying? plasma isn't this all powerful force.. it is just the liquid part of blood and nothing more. i'm sorry but i don't want my saber doing plasma damage rofl. the damage type should be force just like all the moves of a jedi, plasma just sounds silly.

Check out definition 4 on plasma (I put it in bold). This was taken from dictionary.com:

plasma

n 1: an electrically neutral ionized gas in an electric discharge; distinctly different from solids and liquids and normal gases 2: any watery animal fluid [syn: serum, plasm] 3: a green slightly translucent variety of chalcedony used as a gemstone 4: (physical chemistry) the gaseous state of hot ionized material consisting of ions and electrons and present in the stars and fusion reactors: sometimes regarded as a fourth state of matter distinct from normal gasses

it should do energy damage if any thing besides kenetic..... energy makes sense, it dosen't run off an acid based cell like guns do.... (acid guns) energy guns run off I think oil and gas (the gas is good for several hunreds of shots, dosen't apply to this game)

any ways...... energy would make the most sense, but kenetic is better then energy considering the energy resits in this game

almost forgot any thing can slow down a lightsaber depending on density, if you know any thing about atoms etc you'll understand...... density directly effects light sabers, of course cortis on what ever kotor what ever supposivly does, but density as well would, simple as that

Apparently you don't know much about what our sun is made of.

We're using defs 1 and 4.

and we're not making all the moves of a Jedi plasma just the damage of the LS.

Next time you want to insult people do a little research and know what you're talking about.

good point. But i thing that nothing should be 100% resistant to LSs... and i would also say that they should not be 100% immune to anything.

yeah I see what you mean, but the higher density targets will need more resists then other things do to density..... and that means a revamp of every creature in the game.....

its kinda complicated, what if light sabers did cold? that'd fix every thing LOL LOL, to bad its not practicle
