How in gods name can they break something like this when they weren't even making any direct changes to experimentation. Stealth nerfs in that profession..

This is broken, DEFINATELY NOT A NERF. Too many people running around saying OMG they want to nerf crafting. It's a problem that is existing for everything, not just crafting, if it were a nerf then updated numbers during experimentation would be impossible to see, which is not the case.

One weird thing I have noticed is that I haven't had any problems with the bug while crafting advanced power handlers. I can craft a weapon and experience the bug, I'll immediately go craft an ABPH and not be affected by the bug, then immediately craft a weapon, and see the bug.

Kinda weird.

I also noticed on this that it only seems to be a problem at Personal Crafting Stations.

I pulled out my droid one to make a few things in Coronet and everything went fine like normal

Thats odd, while I did my initial testing on this I was outside in my home city and was bugged though able to use the work around.

SW corro is saying they get updated stats simply on a 30 second wait. Maybe it's a zone issue?

On Tarquinnas, I am finding this workaround to work just fine for making a component, but when I go to make the weapon itself, it doesn't function at all. I am using a top quality personal crafting station in my home. I will have to investigate using a droid based one, or the public crafting stations in town and see what happens.

Currently I consider myself unreliable enough that I don't feel I can offer to do any crafting for anyone. I can do some factory runs if I burn through enough weapon schematic attempts to get decent results but its hardly cost or time efficient.

I can't believe they STILL haven't hotfixed this, how utterly incompetant can they be? As I said before and elsewhere, this sort of behaviour in any other industry would get you fired on the spot. Here in gamesland its evidently such a screwed up industry that its not only acceptable its officially condoned. I also can't believe they haven't made some sort of a public statement on the matter - at least a "we are aware of the issue and working on it" even if its a complete marketingese lie to keep us happy. Instead they just let their customer base get more and more mad at them and more and more upset and they don't give a flying **** about it. In any other industry this would make your company fail. In the games industry we customers are so desparate to play and pay for our favourite game we put up with it, and thus I suppose encourage them in their thinking.

I expect bugs with a patch, I realize just how complex the coding can be and that problems occur. But most games have a testing cycle and a testing server and *listen* to what the public reports and fix the obvious game-breaking problems before pushing a patch live. Its understood by almost anyone that this can happen, but most companies leap on a problem when its discovered not stick their heads more firmly into the dark and ignore it.

If this had bee Cryptic (makers of City of Heroes) they would a) never have taken it live, b) Spoken out on the issue immediately (their devs respond in the forums regularly and the chief designer often does as well, offering explanation as to why somethign is being done), and c) fixed the problem if it had gone live in a few hours at the most. City of Heroes is well designed, rock solid for the most part and has very few if any bugs.

If this had been Mythic (makers of DAOC) they would a) probably not have gone live with this bug becuase they try to avoid game breakers as much as any company, b). Would have made an official announcement letting the players know that it was being addressed and how much of a priority it is and c) have fixed the problem in a few days at most, usually the next day. Mythic isn't perfect but they do believe in talking to their players.

Instead we have SOE/Lucasarts who a) pushed game breaking bugs live without any hesitation, b) Offers no acknowledgement of the fact, and no indication that they give a damn about fixing it, c) has a record of leaving such bugs active for YEARS unfixed and unaddressed, and c) continues operating as normal with bugs that completely ruin the gaming experience of not a few but THOUSANDS of their paying customers. Its like a text book example of how to screw up customer relations, how not to manage bug testing and Q&A, and how to alienate and eventually drive away your customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I am a hairsbreadth away from telling them where they can stick their game, and possibly even setting up a website solely devoted to their record of incompetancy that advises customers not to buy their product and documents exactly why that recommendation is being made. Companies like SOE need to learn that they MUST respond to the concerns of their customers or their customers will simply go away and pay someone else for their entertainment.

As far as the workaround working......

Works fine for me on components. Does not work at all on final combine for weapons.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

Well Im new to crafting I bought an alt and with my main i respec to master armorsmith, master weapon smith and master chef to provide my guild with...Ive never carfted before so i messing around with a lot cdef stuff and one power handler stuff to get my feet wet...I been using the work around I think when i use one experiment point then alt tab come back and use another one it show the experiment percentage go up..but i dont see the damage or speed or sac change in the weapon window is this the bug or was it the experimentation wouldnt change..FYI Im enjoying crafting and taking in baby steps till i feel conifent to make some of the better weapons....

But I do know how this bug got introduced or overlook or push to live and the culprit profession is BH and JEDI alot of dev time went into coding there new system which BTW is borked also...sad state of affairs I well tell you that imo when the last hot fix was to fix the candles

This bug is an INSULT to every crafter on every server. This shows how much the Devs don't care about crafters, and how little testing is ever done. I for one am not going to fill a single order until this bug is fixed. This workaround doesn't work for me, so I can't even try to make weapons. Tiggs is the Community Relations Director, well it's time that she listen to the communtiy or she should be replaced.

what i want to know is...

why haven't we heard a peep from ANYONE drawing a paycheck from SOE?

For cryin out loud, im a patient guy, but for pete's sake! are they gone fishing? Applying for jobs elsewhere? Thinking up of really, really keen new moves for dancers? oh, oh i know.... something new for the jedi...

200,000 ppl give them anywhere between 20 and 40 bucks a month to play a game. And when they break it ( knowingly after what i read on TC) 2 days later still not a word from anything SOE regarding fix times or even an acknowledgement of the problem.

I have an IDEA...make the GAME WORK..... then worry about giving cantina dwellers neat ribbons to twirl...

I don't think im complaining. I am asking for the service i pay for and have been paying for over 2 years now.

Is that your middle mouse button (scroll) click you bound it to? I tried the tapping ALT trick and it didn't work for me Not sure if it would work differently coming from a mouse bind or not.

Well it appears that the problem may not be that simple. Alot of people are having varied results with this and other workarounds.

Tough to tell if it's zone oriented or rig oriented.
