Ummm, WoW is using the EQ2 system of combat. EQ2 uses the EQ system of combat. And so, that means, is A=B, and B=C, then A is also equal to C, where A is EQ2, and B is WoW, and C is SWG.

I really dont like the sound of these weapon stats but lets all hold judgement atleast until the next stage and we can get some crafted versions

Rather than hearing complaints about how weapons got"nerfed" and "suck" now, which is irrelevant since everything else including player hp totals, armor mitigation, special attack costs, and so on got changed too......I'd much rather see someone who has time totry it outon TC post an overview of how weapon experimentation has changed to work with the new system.
I'm committed to having to reprototype every single weapon I have a draft schematic for once the CU goes live, and I'll probably end up throwing out a portion of what's on my vendors now because the conversion results in undesireable stats. OMG, the devs hate me. Why am I getting nerfed?! I don't even DO combat.......oh wait, that's the same thing that happens when a newer, better resource spawns, like the crazy plumbum that naritus got a month ago.
Change happens. Deal with it.
I for one am looking forward to having combat being more balanced. Even though it doesn't affect my gameplay personally, FotM profession templates,everyone and their brother getting buffs andsoloing krayt dragons and kimogilas, and half of my draft schematics being worthless on the market except as curiosities kinda annoyed me. I want to play in a balanced game where everything has a purpose and a place and actually gets used. You know, diversity. So if that takes some nerfing to do, bring on the nerf bat. It's long overdue.

YAY! WOOKS GET NERFED AGAIN!
Well boys and girls, I wouldnt say I didnt see this comming, but it happened. Geo pistols got *NERFED*. They only do energy damage... they're quicker than most weapons, but they are sub-par compared to other weapons. Oh, and forget the idea of the CU making things easier to understand and adapt to. The learning curve is like a stab to the abdomen. Not quite as bad as EVE online, but it's getting there. It doesnt help no one has any armor, and we cant make any, so we dont know how that's going to play out, but honestly, what's the point. Weapons being uber, lasting forever, grenades that never run out, big flashy text telling you what's going on.... that's not what you do to capture your audience. It really does look like SWG is taking a turn for the UO. They're trying to make it too noob friendly, but this is making the rest of the game pay. I am starting to regret my investment in SWG.
I'll edit it to update with more info as I get it.

whatever floats your boat dude. I like what i have seen on TC so far, its like combat in swg died and went to haven. Now the frogie wepons are never what you would see on regular servers crafted with regular resurces. So dont base those stats and think we will be hiting that and another thing those wepons will be tested during the next phases atm you should be testing the new player leveling system and reporting your concerns not whining about being nerfed and not being uber.

On top of all this, let's not forget one thing... Frog weapons do and have ALWAYS sucked!!!
Don't look at these weapons and think "this is as good as they get". HAHA! I remember getting a flamer out of a frog and an LLC. Together their maxes added up to 550 for crying out loud.
Once you get to making the weapons you will know, not now. Uh uh.
AS for that, devs... put thejust below the bestweapons INTO the frogs. Why? Because that is what will be on live and testing without them is not wise. It will make us think we are underpowered, you will adjust, and it will be out of whack agian.
THIS IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE ADJUST.

As a weaponsmith i'm not at all worried.
Everyone will always need weapons, and this is the COMBAT update, and unless im mistaken and some of our ranks have become UBER WEAPONSMITHS OF DOOM then ... well ... good for them.
