I deffinatly thing they should rename that skill in the experamentation branch, I know several people that got that tree just to get to be a 12 pointer, low and behold the +to experamentation isnt a +to experamentation, but a + to success of expreamentation, whats the difference between that and assembly? I thought assembly was taken into account when you experament as well, not just the initial assembly roll of the item.

Assembly only goes towards the initial creation of the item, helping to protect against criticals mainly. What gets me is the last FS branch, the technique tree. Now this is +1 for each box....this is supposed to help during both assembly and experiementation? Who knows, I'd love to see that code. Also, since we all know repair mods don't work, what is up with having an entire FS branch dedicated to repair! Sounds pretty shaky to me... - Woodis

Actually the repair mods DO work, it has just been stated that the effect is minor enough to hardly be worth the trouble.


That being said I'm a master WS and as part of my suit I have been working in some repair tapes. I now have roughly +15 weapons repair, and +15 repair. I have noticed a difference with this in my repairs, I rarely fail now but I can't say I notice a huge increase of "Minor blemishes" either, but at least I don't totally fail very often anymore which is nice. I'm trying to complete my suit with +25 assembly, +25 repair, and +25 weapons repair, as well as the exp of course. I'd also like to get the FS crafting mastery(4400 currently, thanks to holo profs), but just can't bring myself to start that insane grind.

I'm not going to try and track down the threads but I'm sure it's been stated by Devs that the repair mods on tapes are broken. If you do a search through this forum, you'll find many very thorough and competant tests have been done, to no noticable difference. I've heard rumors that the FS repair branch helps a bit...but then "Rumors are like...", I'll just leave it at that
