I know I'm not alone in this, but I really feel that the DL-44 and the more iconic Star Wars weapons need to be the most powerful guns out there. It kinda bites to use guns I don't really care about as a master pistoleer. The DE10 is sexy, but come on, I want to use a DL-44 as a master smuggler, and a scout blaster at master pistoleer.
It would be nice to let the newbies keep the DL-44, but allow masters to own upgraded, non-newbie-certed versions of these guns as well. Why do the newbs get all the good stuff?

I've heard, through the grapevine, that there's a "DPS" conversion rate from this system to the new, so that your weapon's damage per second is equal from now to then.ie Best weapon on the server, will still be the best weapon on the server., even though the stats will be different (the dmg type will change at very least).
"the buzz" on the DOTs are that the strength of the DoT will be directly added to the maximum damage of the weapon.
This is where I lose my train of thought with the DOT's not existing... What about those EXCEPTIONAL T21's with Exceptional DOT's on them as well... Such as:
4085 Mind Fire
125% Pot
1100 Duration
12340 Uses... Does that mean that on top of the Max Damage of the Rifle you are going to add 4085 to it?!?! That would defeat the purpose altogether.... If it was up to me. ( be thankful it's not ), I would remove weapon DOTs altogether to eliminate confusion.

This is a silly question, but I need to ask:
If noob weapons can only be made with basic parts, what happens to the weapons we've made with high end parts? I've made a bunch of nym and krayt enhanced D-18's and DL44's and I enjoy using them. But if they become useless due to a massive damage nerf....
If you had the most powerfulDL44 available on the server before the conversion process, you will still have the most powerful DL44 on the server after conversion. All weapon stats will, however, be brought within a reasonable range of their post-CU target numbers. For balance reasons we can no longer allowoverpowered novice weapons, which wasamajorreason for no longer allowing advanced components in novice level weapons.

I am not a Jedi, but wasn't the same thing said for Lightsabers pre patch 9?

That is music to my ears. I love that there will no longer be these god weapons out there. Balance will make this game extremely fun again.

DOTs of this sort will indeed be removed completely from all weapons. The point values of the DOTs will not be converted on a 1-1 ratio; instead a formula is used to derive a more reasonable value for the end weapon. All weapon valueswill be modified to be within acceptable (from a balance perspective) ranges of the new weapon target numbers. The truth of the matter is that there are some very overpowered DOT weapons in the world, and those weapons will no doubt lose much of their punch. These weapons should, however, still be relativelyexcellent weapons within the new system - just not the overpowered uber weapons they are now.

Helios im curious of one thing,,,, the frog on tc5 is giving out power hammers with 875 max and scythes with 707 max,,,, which is definetly higher then the average crafted weapons, by far,,,, are we to assume that with the CU and the loss of armor pierce the damage on our weapons will actually be going up,,,
so my 808 dmg powerhammer lets say will actually be increaseing,,,, I am just curious because to reach 808 in the current system you need acklay bones over 200 dmg and a good slice,,, were as if the frog is giving out 875 dmg and 2.5 speed it makes me wonder what we will get converted to,,, is our damage actually goind up not down?
thanks for your time

Then reguardless it will become an exceptional bowcaster. Maybe not compared to all the other weapons out there, but compared to other bowcasters it will be exceptional.

If it drops to like 100-300 just to be exceptional in the view of bowcasters, that would suck.

but what if bowcasters are the equivalent of a cdef in the CU or a very low level weapon. So if the average bowcaster will be 75 max dmg his will convert to a WOPPING UBER 125dmg!!! and he'll have the best noob weapon around.

Yup. Exactly. There are going to be weapons that this happens to as well as armor. Just so happens yours is a Bowcaster that was really good in live. But, at the same time the bowcaster on the frog may not reflect bowcasters, but based on where it is in the wookiee tree.. I suspect it's somewhere around there although they will probably be a descent amount better.
