In a "resource city" you get a bonus to assembly, not experimentation and the only resolution I found was to buy the Weaponsmith limited tool kit for 600K.............it gives you +5 to repair, +5 to assembly, and +3 to experimentation...........

Then what is a manufacturing center "supposed" to do?

The other problem with testing the conjecture is complexity. I have never crit failed on a scout a dh17 and so on. T21s will blow up alot more often. Here is what truely blows my mind. Haveing master artisan decreases you crit failures. Why in the world is this. How does being able to survey great, or make foods. Make me a better weaponsmith.

I suppose its the line of thought. That if everyone is in the same boat. Then everyone is equal anyway. I remember the shock when I told a master architect that I was only buying his fourty three point crafting station for show. He replied well it will also give you less critical failures. Too which I reply nope all the crafting stations are broke. Minus eight and plus fourty three are exactly the same. If the devs wanted to be super nice they might fix this. Even better would be if the station could have experimentation bonuses. Instead of haveing to have a ton of clothing for crafting and another set for walking outside in.

It just makes you a better crafter.

depends on who it was for. i crit failed on a laser carbine assembly with 4 tissues provided by a customer. i apologized profusely and offered to try to make it up to him. that's tough, because he probably walked away wondering if i just kept them...

in light of that, and someone else's post about a stun baton and acklay bones they provided to a smith and questioned whether they were used, what this game really needs is reporting crafting messages to group members. like earth & beyond. if you were in a group with someone and they made an item, you were told the success status of their crafting attempt (70%ish-200%). something like that would be golden here, so if you did crit fail with someone's tissues or other looted items they would see that and you would be off the hook.

What the acklay bone guy didnt realize is you need to SUBTRACT the standard MWS stats from the recore, because the bones are not a power-up, they are a REPLACEMENT. Once you do that, it's obvious the bones are in the baton.

I just say to hell with anything special. After crit failing on 2 items and 3 mods on the 3rd krayt today, almost a million in losses, I will no longer use anything that I have to pay that much for. It will take months to recover the lost million credits. It is just not worth it.

SOE, the company that thinks 'critical failure' means FUN! Morons
