Mine what I can but buy what I need IF I'm in a crunch and really really need it right then. I prefer trading with other smiths for resources, get a better deal . I might have something another smith needs and we both get what we want at a fair deal.

Personally I mine a lot of my own. I am lucky enough to have a few guildmates who are more than willing to help me mine rare minerals in exchange for a few weapons in return. Case and point the 1000 oq rainbow gemstone that was on Valcynn a while back. Had 2 riflemen friends agree to mine some for me in exchange for good t-21's. Also the break to do holocrack let me restock a bit.

In generaly mine what I can, buy the rest or subcontract out in barter to guildmates or friends.

I mine 80% of my own. I was a resource seller before, and I saved some things from those days, but I didn't fully realize the complexity or the number of resources required for weaponsmith at the time. So although I have some really great stuff, there are certain things I have to buy since I'm just getting started as a WS.

I mine everything myself ... on a per unit cost basis, it's much less expensive that way.

I do 99% mine myself or using lots from the gun bunnies in my PA. They use a few lots they would never use anyways, I get more resources, they get better guns. Works for us. I do on occaison buy rares for special orders or if I missed a resource.

I have to buy due to a few reasons

1) Only 1 account. With 2 medium houses and 3 factories. I only have 3 lot left to use. I usally will only use it if there is a particular resources i want extra of

2) work and school eat most of my time. So survey for a good spot and checking up on it takes too much time

we're lucky enough to have a Miner's Guild on my server. I'll higher out some of the more common resources now and get them at a very low cost, while sitting my havesters on either rare spawns or high quality spawns (since those tend to be very expensive on the open market.) It's kept my overhead down and weapons in stock.
