Thread: The exploit/bug of uber weapons/components is spreading.
My interst is the time I have spent on my own character. If SOE doesnt provide an answer(publicly) with this issue pretty soon then I will have to assume that they do not know how serious this is and I can stop spending money/time on this product and move to another game more secure in its structure.
noticed your a DE, cant say that I blame you. If I was a DE i would have changed professions a long time ago. Cant believe how useless theyve made droids. People just buy chassis for the look since nothing seperates droids. Aparently a master DE can assemble the same thing into an Adv mouse droid as they can into a surgical droid chassis. Why burn up the extra resources on the chassis except so the customer gets a look of a different droid
. Just goes to show you that the Devs are still in their UO mindset. Which vehicles are they working on first? Oh yea, more CH crap
. Should rename the game to BeastMaster In Space. Not that I have anything against pets, they are useful. But how many CH's did you see in the movies compared to droids? Not to mention noone feared the monstrously huge creatures since their technology was sufficient to overcome that. Compared to the grauls, rancor, cowardly gurrecks (any non-ch can own) what was soooo bad about the pre-nerf probots?? Was 100 points damage REALLY that bad? My FWG5 i carry shoots for 51-323/1.7 and on /bodyshot3 i prettymuch 1 shot kill a lot of stuff. My cowardly gurreck does 140-150/2.0.
I realize I just hijacked this thread but it was better than just typing /bump ![]()
I have a lot to say in responce to that about the DE profession but I will attempt to keep the thread on topic and keep my mouth shut. ![]()
Over 2 weeks of these things flooding the market and no clear cut answer. Why does it seem to me that they are hoping this will be ignored and just go away? It should have been fairly easy to run and rerun a couple of times and check values, if things didn`t add up then it should have been fixed.
This is a crafting issue in a game that boasts a player run economy something like this should be priority not nerfing missions to even greater distances.
What is going on?
I really don't think this is a 'bug'. I think it's more of a "you're our 1 millionth customer, here, have a godly sucess" kind of thing. Probably something like a once in a while type gift. Why does everyone automatically think it's a bug? I think it's cool to maybe have that chance once in a while ![]()
You can't do it whenever you want to. It just happens......what if they coded it this way?

Hmm....that's odd. I guess I didn't want to read all 4 pages. I stand corrected....but still, I think it's a cool idea, unless people can exploit it. That does kinda suck huh? Well, I think that it would be nice to have the projectile feed mech fixed as well. I hate trying to experiement on those suckers.

Although I know that a program with the complexity of SWG is difficult to work with I am sure that it was developed using Visual Studio. The VS IDE contains many tools to assist in fixing bugs. I am sure that since they have the recipe for recreating this bug it would be fairly easy to run the program in the debugger and quickly isolate and fix the problem.
There isn't any credible technical reason why a fix for this bug is taking so long. Given the huge numbers of the exploited weapons in circulation a fix to the code to prevent future occurances of this exploit is no longer an acceptable solution *by itself*. All such weapons now need to be deleted from the database.
It is clear that SOE places a relatively low priority on this bug and will continue to do so as long as the current situation in regards to it remains the same - namely that it continues to be exploited by only a few weaponsmiths on just a few servers.
Frankly, I don't think these weaponsmiths can continue to be blamed for using this exploit. They know that SOE has known about it for a considerable amount of time and have yet to take even the slightest action to stop its continued flagrent use.
Taurin - if you really intend to do anything at all about this exploit the very least you could do would be to tell the smiths that have publicly admitted to using it that it is an exploit and that they must stop using it. Is that really so much work that it can't be done today?
Vortex - I know (that for some) reading is a terrible chore but if you want to have your opinions respected by others in this forum it is necessary to do. I suggest that you read at least the previous 2 pages of posts in any thread you intend to post in yourself so that you start coming across as someone whose opinions are worth listening too. Also you might want to read the "Top 5 weaponsmith issues" thread - you will then find the appropriate place to discuss the issues with projectile feed mechanism as well as the other components which also suffer from this same problem.
