Thread: ALR Questions

I just bought this ALR and would love some help


Base speed: 2.62

Mod speed: 1.64 (I'm only Master Rifleman at the moment, ranged speed FS line, but no other skills in ranged combat so this is a little deceiving)

Damage: 475-1102

Accuracy Bonus: 17

Wound: 14.95%

Base DPS: 300.49

Mod DPS: 480.21

SAC: 82


I will be MBH/MR when i'm done with template, so I will add more speed with it.

What slice should I get? 12% speed? All critical? I think damage is capped already so I don't think I need a damage slice.

What kind of powerups? SAC is pretty low already but the lower is always better.

Is it worthy of a ADK when all done?

damage cap on alr is 1184


with mbh/mr my mod dps is 619 with damage pup 638


my rifle is as follows


spd 2.23


mod spd 1.24


dam 486 - 1179


base dps 379.42


mod dps 619.2


sac 82


this is sliced with 12% speed


i always use damage pup.


if it turns out something like mine. then yea it worth an adk. i used one on that.

How's your action drain with your weapon? Seems like 82 is nice for a base SAC but it would kill us with the high action cost specials. Maybe I'm wrong

82 SAC is the ABSOLUTE minimum SAC on a rifle without a SAC pup. It takes a while to hit the bottom of my action, even when I spam my best specials.

What tissues/scopes were used on this build? I used 153 tissues with 4%speed 4% damage slice.



1177 dmg, 100 sac, 2.7 speed. I need to make another one so if you can provide the loot that you used, id appreciate it!

I haven't checked this with my alt who is a master rifleman so don't know what modified speed and DPS is.

Nice. Too bad there is not Accuracy on it, but is is essentially my rifle. I just got a 4% damage to hit cap and 4% speed and I LOVE my rifle. I outdamage everyone though, so be prepared to take a lot of your group's aggro.

I guess it depends on whether you prefer having a fast weapon or one that fires heavy damage per shot, which depends in part on your playing style and which specials you tend to use. If that were my rifle, I would probably go with a 4% damage + 4% speed slice. A 12% speed slice would be very effective too though.I doubt that it would make much of a difference in your damage output over time either way (I've been playing with the numbers a lot with my own various rifles, and really don't see much of a difference at all over time).


As for an ADK... you can get much better rifles if you're willing to spend the money. I'd say that if you already have an ADK for it, you have two choices: (1) go ahead and ADK it, and just destroy the rifle to recover your ADK if you find a better rifle, or (2) use it without an ADK until it approaches 25% condition (at which point it is about to break), and then decide at that point whether you want to keep using it, and if so ADK it at that point. Perhaps you will have found a better rifle by then. Personally,I don't really see the harm in ADK'ing any weapon, no matter how good it is, as long as you are willing to destroy the weapon when you find a better one.


As for PUPs... again it depends on your playing style and which specials you like to use. If you tend to fight high-HAM targets spamming a lot of high-SAC specials, then I'd definitely go with a SAC PUP. If you tend to fight targets closer to your level that you can easily kill without running out of action, or if you tend to use predominantlylow-SAC specials, thenyou might go with a speed or damage PUP (speed would be my personal preference of the two in that case, but others here will disagree).


I know I've basically just told you "it depends" to everything you asked, but it really does depend.

i dont know what was used, i just bought it off a weaponsmith. only cost me 3.2 mil. ill try to find out for you tho.

never really have to worry bout my action cause i was regen foods.

Im desperately trying to make 1000 base max damage on an ALR with enhancers, using a SAC stock, not a looted damage one. Is it possible? What stats are you getting on subcomponents. I basically want to use 184 enhanced cells to cap damage and cap sac. Having trouble deciding on which way is better. The way I have it figured is if I use a Looted Damage scope with +29/+29 min/max I can cap the damage at least, but end up with 89/91 sac. I want it lower than that.


Ideas!? Thoughts? Just looking for some older weaponsmiths Advice. Right now Im at 980 max damage with 41max dmg power handler, 41max damage barrel. Im trying to get a better Link-Steel Aluminum as 980 is my resource cap right now, Im using a great resource for the other two spots in the ALR.

If you don't have access to pre CU converted components, it will be pretty hard to cap both damage and SAC. However, if you experiment for damage, after SAC, on the components, you could come pretty close. The speed would be high, but that's sliceable. The SAC would easily be capped on assembly with around -12 or -13 on the ABPH

buy a pre-cu converted advanced blaster rifle barrel, if you have the good resources you will be pretty close. I don't suggest using a looted stock in any case, use a -25 SAC patch 23 stock or a 0.0 spd -20SAC pre-cu stock. You'll cap out SAC on combine. If you want you can exp dmg a bit more on your ABPH instead of the speed.
