Thread: Does anyone know what weapon does cold in CU?

I asked because it seems they removed blast and stun but left cold for armor crafting.
Today...
... all weapons have a base damage type of either kinetic or energy. On top of that, some weaponswill have some amount of "elemental" damage (cold/heat/electric/acid) which corresponds to the available armor protections. There is also a weapon powerup that allows you to convert some amount of your base damage to elemental damage if the weapon already started with some elemental damage (like the Cryo Lance for instance).

Sweet! Just to clarify though, does that mean that the powerup can only convert base damage to the elemental that the weapon already has? For example, I can't put this on the Cryo Lance, which does cold, and give it electric damage as well, right? It would only transfer to cold damage. Yes?
Yes. Your base damage would convert to the already existing elemental damage type. You can't have more than elemental damage type on a weapon.

How does that Work for a jedi and thier lightsaber since they will have different elemental damages?
By the Way I thank you for your response. a helpful sign in a dark age of information towards jedi

Yeah it was announced Color Crystals would add a bonus elemental damage depending on color. Im just curious cause it seems the powerups would offer a major imbalance turning a Gun from a heavily resisted type to a completely unresisted or very low resist damage type. Will lightsabers be able to shift in that way?

The shift isn't significant enough to cause the issues you're referring to. It's just a moderate fraction to give you some additional bonus damage (i'm calling it a bonus because it will be less likely to be resisted).
And you're very welcome. ![]()
Will this allow people that have not yet entered combat see the Saber color and adjust their armor specifically against us? Will weapons what do elemental damage have a specific color to allow us to see what additional element they are throwing?

Ok thank you for the answer but i think what we really want to know is.... lets say my "uber" hammer is 1000max damage and it is the best on the server. Tom over here has the 2nd best hammer but has only 800max damage. When the Curb hits you all decide that the max damage a hammer should have is 850 max. So mine is 850 and Tom's is 800max ??? I think you get the drift... so can you be a bit more specific please.

This is a silly question, but I need to ask:
If noob weapons can only be made with basic parts, what happens to the weapons we've made with high end parts? I've made a bunch of nym and krayt enhanced D-18's and DL44's and I enjoy using them. But if they become useless due to a massive damage nerf....
If you had the most powerfulDL44 available on the server before the conversion process, you will still have the most powerful DL44 on the server after conversion. All weapon stats will, however, be brought within a reasonable range of their post-CU target numbers. For balance reasons we can no longer allowoverpowered novice weapons, which wasamajorreason for no longer allowing advanced components in novice level weapons.
