Thread: Krayt Tissues prices what is happening ?

Here on Chimaera 11 x 60DAM Krayts have been sold for 10 million !!! Not only that the seller insisted on 500k increments. What is going on ? 2 months ago that would have been 3 mil or so. The guy buying them says he isn't a WS, just wanted a good gun to play with. I, for one, will not be bidding on tissues for a while now, there's no way I can make money on that kind of deal. Is this the same everywhere or just something here in euro land ?

Since krayt pearls arent worth what they used to be i think alot of people stopped hunting krayts. This leads to a shorage of tissues and high prices.

this is sad, I havn't ever really bought tissues for makin guns, and with the prices of the tissues, I think I'll continue to let those seeking special orders to secure their own tissues.

With the prices of some of these looted items, people have to ask themselves what's the value of the end product and remember that. Unfortunatly the people who bid auctions up that high dont think about that, and just want the item. it's all sad really.

It's sad, really. But if a guy with those/similar/other tissues come to you to have a weapon made, charge him for it (hey if he can pay 10m for the tissues, he can pay the crafter too). If he refuse to pay just say no thanks and let him find another smith.

I won an auction on chilastra.. got two sets of 6, 1 set of 7 and 1 set of 8 for 8 mil each (4mil total) these were all base.

Seriously, tell me what kind of weapons you're going to be able to craft that give you a +30 bump over production damage that you're going to be able to sell for several million credits... each...


There is too much insanity afoot, somewhere in this process, and it can't continue. Something will break down...

Prices of tissues are going up because of 1 reason. SOE.They played with the loot tables (unless I've become extremly unlucky) and they played with spawn rate. A couple of weeks ago I could log on at server up and always find at least1 spawn of dragons close to or into the GY. The last weeks, I can't find a single juvey to save my own backside. I think there was 1 day where my hunting group found 4 spawns back to back to back to back and in those 20 dragons only 1 had tissues(and only 2 in the set)and those were only +50's -0.46's. Mind you, we found 3 pearls, but still


In the past....6 weeks, I think I've only added like 20 tissues to my collection (still going up...slowly...250 and climbing)


I'im thinking they might have downed the spawn/loot rate because of the bloom of padawans we'll have and of knight trials that are gonna be happening. Less spawns, less giants, less knights.

you know what else will contribute to the price is that all the krayt tissue exploits are finally fixed. now there are more people tyring to buy legit tissues.

Oh, and i didnt plan on making any $.. I have plenty of that already.. I just wanted a better Jawa.

I'm not quite sure about this. I noticed all the large guilds buying all the tissues they could before the nerf/patch at incredibly high price (250k per base tissues at some point). I would have thought the prices to drop because they'd have a bunch of crated krayt tisses, but for some reason, they're not.

What do you mean by "8 mil each"? I see the "4mil total", but you can see where I might have gotten confused.


As far as recent patch effects, there do appear to be some reductions in spawns, and yes, SOE continues to attack exploits so at some point one would have to expect the supply to dwindle. Of course, lest we forget, once JTL begins, will there be anyone left on any planet, let alone the Graveyard...?

...this crazy tissues prices were one reasonwhy i was going 2 weekson ingame holidays ... the last 6 weeks its nearly impossible to get some Krayt tissues on Chimaera, only if you pay horrible prices, you can get some.

Sure, i could afford to buy a30 dam Tissue for 300K, but no one would buy a weapon for that price.

I recognized that nearly only fightersbuy this tissues at this prices and finally they need a WS to craft the weapons.

But now it becomes curious, they pay millions for their tissues but if they should pay the WS 100Kto craft this Krayt weapon, many people get angry why the price is so high forthe few resources i need ...... so i decided to make no special orders anymore.


There are many WS in the galaxy ... i am sure they will find one who craft it .... but what would happen if no WS make a special order ..............

Now, as far as the trend towards custom orders, a lot of the senior weaponsmiths on Tempest got out of that grind a long time ago. Part of it was pricing issues: I never liked to charge much at all, especially since the customer bore all the risk if they supplied the components. Problem was, that type of kindness meant I got tell-hell'd to death once word got around. Another issue was customers not understanding that krayt tissue is somewhat finicky to work with, but that's another issue.


I'm waiting for someone to chime in on this thread and tell us to let people pay whatever they want for the tissue. That's true, and with the excess of credits these days it's hard to get past that. It will change the way a lot of us have done business, as I find much fewer opportunities to build up tissue inventory, at least at cost levels that are profitable. But, it's just a game...
