Before I ask again for clarification from CSR it would be helpful to have some comments. I am not a WS btw but since I understood it makes no difference to repairs it didnt seem to matter - that was just before my 609/892 (approx) T21 fell apart with a 99.7% repair kit. To find out what was right I put a ticket to CSR. Here are the bones of the exchange.
My question to CSR
Iob "Are the repair tools currently broken ..."
CSR "I would like to tell you that every player has an equal chance of repairing the weapon. ...."
Iob "soe7398 would seem to be out of date now since it contradicts this answer" (this is an article the knowlewdge base served up)
CSR "A weaponsmith should have a better chance at repairing weapons due to the fact that he is a weaponsmith. When a weapon is repaired it is quite possible that the repair tool looks at a players skill and not their repair mod. That being said I have heard that quite a few weaponsmiths have better success in repairing weapons..."
So now I`m more confused than ever. To chase a WS or not to chase a WS for this thankless task is the question?
Helps

Do not chase a WS for repairs. Being a WS doesn't help one bit. There has been countless tests done and everyone has an equal chance of repairing a weapon/armor, even those with "repair" modded clothing.
Some ppl swear by their clothes, but it's all random. Like a smugglers tool. Some ppl say 99.99999 tools have a better chance of getting a high slice, when the devs have stated that it makes absolutly no difference wether the tool is 99.99999 or 0.00001.

The thing is that weaponsmiths should have a better chance of fixing weapons. The whole repair skill thing is pretty much bugged I guess.

I must say that since mastering WS I have had MUCH better results in repairing, perhaps it's my own ego telling me I'm doing a better job though!
On a similar note, does anyone else find that weapons with PUPs attached have a terrible repair rate?

Weaponsmiths DO have a better chance of repairing a weapon than a non-weaponsmith.
This is straight out of Thunderheart's mouth. Link here.
However, he also said that sliced weapons have a very high chance of failing during repair. So any testing that you do to test non-WS vs. WS repairs need to be done on weapons that are NOT sliced. I suspect that the "tests" alluded to earlier in this thread were done with weapons that were sliced.

I am not artisan.
I have a +15 repair cloth. I never failed repairing anything while wearing it ..... except one day when I had high BF I failed to repair 3 armor pieces during a 20 armor pieces "repair run".
(I'm talking about "repair +X" not "armor repair +X", "weapon repair +X", "clothting repair +X")
Today I have also the +20 FS repair mod and another +3 repair mod on other clothes bringing me to +38 repair mod.
I never failed any repair since I'm +35(and more).
