Thread: Something is not right since the new buffs...

I know a few people have posted some issues but after some intensive crafting tonight there is definately a few things not right since these new buffs.


1) I had a"Your experimentation was a Failure" messageon experimenting 8 points on a ABPH but the stats altered to exactly the same as if I have had 8 Greats. (They were all on SAC with a -7 SACCell, came out at -15 SAC)


2) I am getting a LOT MORE critical failures, Moderates successes etc since these buffs came out, even when using port and with +25 exp suit, "Research Centre" and the best crafting tools and stations. I know everyone has bad luck but this is not just bad luck.


Something isnt right.

When you have the buff activated on your character? Oddly enough, I've noticed more amazing successes (same situation, save I dont craft in research centre enabled towns normally). Notably, for 3 of 4 custom made DL-44 XT's, I had 2 amazing successes in a row for the first 3 on SAC. Of course given my luck, the last weapon was the best but I got a moderate success on the last point =/

In total of 8 weapons crafted for that custom order, I got only 1 critical failure, and 2-3 moderate, with quite a few amazing's overall.

I've experienced more amazings and I've definately noticed an increase in condition and other stats on my subs and final weapon builds... no crit failures yet. Nothing but "greats" and "amazings"... with an couple extra amazings here and there...

I am getting a fair share of amazings as well... just more Moderates and Critical failures than I remember ever getting before the buffs. Ahh well, maybe I just haven't done that much crafting in one go for a while lol.


The other problem though is quite strage. Twice in that craftign session I had a "Failure" when experimenting, not a "Critical Failure" just "Failure". The end result was as if they had been "Greats" though... seems odd that a failure gives me better results than a Moderate or good.

I crafted for two hours and I got ZERO moderates. That's right, not a single one. I was making component schems and not actual weapons. I did get one critical failure when experimenting an advanced weapon stock.


I would have crafted longer, but the musician that buffed me wasn't a master and my buff ran out...


Having to get buffed just to make a schematic really sucks.

not that if i had any critical or moderate success lately(*knock* *knock*), but there is really something wrong with the amazings for me. like i cannot really remember making any wep or subcomp with not at least 1 amazing(of the 3 rolls) but now... they r really common and before i was making so may stuff with all amazings not sure if its the buff tough, cause there seems to be a few bugs around the whole crafting...

Its actually pretty simple. We have no idea how the game figures experimentation rolls. Its possible that the 2% increase in the resource stat on high end resources could possibly increase the requireed rng roll by more than the 10% exp bonus actually gains us....therefore making us have worse experiments. The buffs manifest really poorly in the creation of items whose experimentation lines are directly relatedlike scopes/stocks and pups.

I noticed a lot mroe goods and criticals. Normally I can craft quite a few weapons before i get teh crit fail. But with the new buffs ive had 5 critfails in about 15 weapons.

Now the resource quaity is a big difference with a buff.

But my biggest problem is finding a damn musician who knows what they are doing to give the buff. Urks me when I tip 100k for the buff and its just a normal insperation.

well, I've spent this evening using the artisan and WS buff, during this time I received my first critical failure in a long time..could be a fluke. What suprised me more is that the "amazing" and "Great" notifications don't appear to be having a differing imapact on the same component.

I have been working on Advanced power handlers (unenhanced) I've received both "great" and "amazing" on both the crafting and experimentation (often 6 points assigned in exp) in these I saw no difference between my result where all 12 points were "amazing" compared to all 12 being "great"...has anyone else seen this? or is this some wacky WS thing that I've previously not noticed?

Something is definetly not right, I spent most of the evening yestarday crafting and exchanging impressions with other crafters on Kauri... Everyone is noticing an increased number of crits / moderate successes, noone really came out to say that they noticed an improved number of amazings, I for one definetly havent... but here's my setup and I tend to nail one moderate every couple of crafts

+25 bespin
+25 experiment
+25 assembly
Reseach Centre
+48.861 Crafting Station
+15.00 Tools

and the best rescources on the server...


Tonight I'll be doing some crafting but without any buffs, and I'll report back...

Why do you tip in advance? And why do you tip 100K? If I am going to tip 100K every time I need to make a schematic I would be better off just selling my resources...
