this guys is only intrested in makeing cash, he even has the cheak to tell you that hes gonna sell the on for 10 cpu. to his own guild mate. lol some people are realy tight fisted. naa mean. im allway supplying my guildes with free weapons as i get free stuff from them.
My bad. What I meant was that he was going to get this hologrinder ws to make them for him, not sell them on. I didn't get the order at all.
Am still smarting over this.
But, I made up for it by crafting a nice run of scatter pistols from the Iron I bought with 116-150 damage. My personal best, not too shabby at all (even if I did use the barrels from the Jabba theme park so the speed is not as good as it could be -2.6 iirc)

Stay strong, your price was fair.
Some people just want something for nothing.
In a negotiation, whatever server you're on, both you and your customer will have a figure in your head. You should not have gone to his but made a compromise somewhere in the middle. Otherwise it's like saying, 'Yeah, I admit, I was trying to sting you! Now I'll be a good little Master Weaponsmith and do it at the real price!' It is difficult if you are new to a trade profession, but you are quite within your rights to stand your ground. Perhaps give your customer a choice? Like, 'Well you could pay 10cpu OR you could go and get your own factory, grind Wepsmith until you have the schematic then make it yourself!'
Bear in mind that while many customers are valuable to us and present us with good custom and loyalty (not to mention friendship!), conversely some customers are not worth keeping and will eat away at your bottom-line while they get richer. When you depend on their custom to survive they will not be loyal and will just go off to the cheapest supplier they can find. So in light of that i agree with the idea of adding them to your 'Ban Entry List'!
I'd have named my price and when he named the ridiculous 3 cpu price I'd have told him to buy it elsewhere and have a nice life.
There is a huge myth out there. The customer is absolutely NOT always right. Let people like this walk. You think he'd pay a reasonable price next time? Not a chance.
Besides being a PITA to make (many different resources if memory serves) he is just looking for a cheaper outlet for either Imp Dets, Protons, Terhmals, or DRX mines. Great. Good deal. Give me the resources you wish to make them with and you have a 1000 use schematic for $5K, heh heh. AND no factory time ate up by you.
May want to try that approach next time. Very few things don't get at LEAST 10 cpu as a Made Thang (well, to the Buddy's maybe but not some glom off the street). These use what, 60 or 80 resources ?? It would be cheaper to do the $5K thing than pay 600 to 800 a pop. I dabble in Meds and some Chef stuff, and that goes for around 10 cpu which keeps them cheap, but that is merely because I Dabble in it. Better (and more expensive) quaility can be had from the masters. If they are letting it go for same price as a dabbler, more power to em.
Just my 2 cents. I doubt you will ever see this bloke again anyway, so don't put too much thought into another episode.
Hi m8, I am from your server to.. Also Going for WS.. Pricing is an art learned over time.. Wish it was easy to learn. But over time you pickup up on the prices on ther server. I am still figuring out where my goods rate next to other WS. Personally I wont make a deal that I don't feel comfortable with. Ido try to be fair in my pricing. But not to the point I give it away.
Lastnight afew mintues before I planned to logout. A Fellow approched me at the Coronet Starport asking for a melee weapon. I was tired but agrred to do the work. Took me afew mintues longer then normal.. Yawn... hehe I gave him a free melee powerup with the wepon. When he asked a price I told him "You decied m8, just be fair." I didn't research prices for that type of weapon yet.. And he over paid me for the weapon. But he was happy, and I was happy. Both for the credits and the chance to get some sleep after ![]()
You offered a fair price subcomponent builds are often quite expensive to do. Resource and time wise. This is why I store five or six garbage resources. You know the kind that you bought for less then a credit on the bizarre. That way when they ask. You can easily say I can make you 3 cpu product, but its going to be made with garbage. I will not charge 3cpu for for useing my good stuff.
This is great because sometimes you stick it into their heads that not only are they paying for the resources but the quality of said resources also for your expertise. Most people take the hint that your chargeing for additional effort to make them the best. If they are just looking for a grind material then its not a loss if you blow some crud resources on it.
The guy you dealt with was just plain greedy. You should not be guilted for trying to make the same profit you would make if you ran a midlevel mission. 3 cpu only covers the cost not the value of your time. If someone laughs at you that is a sure sign that they belong on an ignore list. If someone cannot afford a price you quote there are a myriad of options of what to do. From saying that is just a bit out of my price range. To offering to trade.
You were in the right they guy was a numbnut.
The best part is the guy telling you that you should only charge 3cpu because your costs are .3cpu, then wants to charge you 10cpu for the iron.
Feck him.
Not only would I not have sold to him, I'd drag his name through the mud. Yeah, I'm vindictive. That's why my name is what it is.
