the new change for resource quality is going to be 2% for all elite crafting professions (WS, AS, SW, etc). it should be in TC notes today or tomorrow or whenever it gets updated. the devs read (yes, they do our posts) our concerns, talked about the numbers, and agreed that 10% is too high. Assembly and Experimentation are still 5% and 10% respectively.

Thats awesome.
Thanks for letting us know Mor'dan and for taking our concerns forward.
I think this is a fair compromise.

I still would have preferred no resource change, the exp and assembly bonuses are great by themselves. This won't crash the market but consider that they made the CU so people didn't need buffs in order to fight. For crafters you will HAVE to have the resource buff in order to compete, especially at the high level. 2% is a huge number when it comes to resources, while 10% was astronomical.

Though I'd prefer that resource buffs were removed completely, 2% is a workable compromise. Hmmm, why do I get the feeling the Devs pulled another bait-and-switch on us though. ![]()

honestly, while i like the number because it keeps everything relatively in the same balance it currently is, i can see where the entertainers can have a beef with this. i think 2/4 or a proposed 3/5 would have been a better compromise, but i am glad that everyone got to see the power of communication to correspondents and corrs to the dev team. it let's everyone know that we are in this together and they do listen to the community. i mean look it... the jedi weren't really involved in this discussion too much at all and they still listened to us. that's always been the complaint, that they only listen to jedi

Even 2% is dumbing the game down, now you just have to be pretty good to cap, instead of being good to cap.
If experimentation exists and weapons are meant to not be 100% perfect, why make the game dumber by letting people hit 100% and cap out?
There should be a reward for excellence, sometimes excellence is hard to acheive. Thats what makes it worthwhile.

dont get me wrong, I'm happy with the change, but it's more beneficial to 'veteran' crafters as opposed to benefiting the whole crafting community...
I was kind of hoping for a buff that would affect something else other then rescources, there were plenty of good ideas floating around...

how many items in the game max out at 98% right now? some components will, but few final builds do, especially in our profession. we will benefit from some better melee weapons for sure, but i don't see a lot of change in our ranged weapons builds, though 2nd tier WS should feel the improvement.
