Thread: Rocket Launcher: A LOT of work to produce. Is it worth it?
I'm in the process of making all of the items from a factory crate that are needed for a Rocket Launcher. After a couple of days of casual gaming, I'm still making items in factory crates. 9 different types items from a factory crate, total, are needed for 1 rocket launcher. It doesn't sound too bad, but MAN, it feels like it when you're doing it.
Question: Is it worth all this work? Has anyone fired a decent Rocket Launcher? Is it a BAD MOMBAJOMBA, OR WHAT?!
A turrets onlyvulnerablility is blast dam.....
That is the fastest way to take a 100k ham turret.......
So yeah....
I say make them and sell them for good quality prices for all those Base destroyers !!!
How much would you put one up for sale for?
I am about halfway done the factory crates myself
The only thing it's good for is blowing up turrets fast. The HPBC is a lot easier to make and has the same armor piercing and about the same damage.
Turrets will kill a commando with a rocket launcher before they can do any serious damage unless there's a lot of other people distracting it, and if you have that many people you might as well just have the commando run up to inside its minimum range and kill it with a launcher pistol.
I don't make them anymore. It is an insane amount of work and when I charge a fair price for it, people are incredibly offended.
A fair price? Based on the fact that it is a charge based weapon, I can't see anymore than 20K from the point of the consumer.
A farir price from the point of the weaponsmith? Based on the fact that it takes all 5 of my factories one full day, a ton of resources are required and each critical failure costs a fortune, I'd say NO LESS than 50K.
There are people on my server that have offered me a lot more than 50K when I tell them that I don't make rocket launchers anymore. But I still won't do it as even though they are willing to pay for my time. I just can't morally sell this disposable gun for what my time is worth.
On the other hand, I think that these weapons are an ideal means of developing the business of a new Master Weaponsmith. If I were new and trying to compete with the original masters on my server, I would sell these for a reasonable price to the consumer. New masters don't have millions yet and don't spend a million a week on resources from resource dealers. They mine their own making a price cut more reasonable.
Do not get me wrong. I am totally opposed to selling on price. I am in senior-level sales in real life and "do not sell on price" is rule number one. Undercutting our economy is a selfish thing to do. But this one weapon, though not worth my time, would be worth the time of a new weaponsmith that can't make 213 damage fwg's and 160 damage dx2's.
Are these guns a bad mombajoma? Yes. Absolutely? Do you have millions from running missions? Then find yourself a new master weaponsmith and order 10 of them. Just don't waste them on bolma missions.

And PvP. You can easily take someone down in one shot in most cases provided you hit them.
By the way, I make a batch of 100 or so every 2 weeks and sell them at 23k a piece. I have no problem selling them obviously. My stats are: 1252-3831, 7.3 speed, 32 charges
I specialize in Commando gear so of course I'm going to have to offer the biggest weapons in the game.

The HPBC does the same thing in PVP (similar damage, heavy AP) but only uses power handlers and a barrel instead of all the ridiculous time-consuming crap for RLs.
AT-STs are vulnerable to blast damage now. Nothing better than a RL to take em down.
Die, imps ![]()
Also they are just plain fun to use. They are the highest dmg weapon in the game, period. That is worth something to some people who have lots of cash. That being said, I only sell maybe a few a week. And thats fine with me. When I make em, I do perhaps a crate of 25. Lasts me a few weeks at least. I take pride in offering a wide array of hard to find and customized/specialized weapons.
Some of you seem a little sour on offering slow moving weapons. Look at the bright side, you only have to make once in a while. And that wide selection can bring a wider array of customers to your shop, if you care about that sort of thing. There are very few weapons that NO ONE wants, and even those are bought once in a while by people who want a complete collection of weapons in their class just for the hell of it.
