Well, the thread does say retirement sale.....

Nearly every crafter I know has a blowout in one form or another. Either selling off items made with their stash, or the resources in their stash.

I didn't post in your ad out of some misplaced sence of repect for your retirement, but apparently you want some.

I have no idea what is going on at your vendor, but from the ad it sounds like you have over 700 weapons at rediculiously low prices.

Just because you are retiring doesn't give you license to dump on the market.

Stuff like this is why people retire from cratfing, its alot of work, alot of time, and you have to put up with crap like this.

Thanks for respecting the profession, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

50 T21s is dumping? get real. I sell that in 2 days...then what happpens next week? They go somewhere else....maybe to your vendor? Who knows. Get you facts straight, I sold over 60 types/varieties of weapons..... I would not consider 5-50 of any type a big force in the market.

I'm done with this, I could sell 50 T21s in 1 day, if I was selling them for 3k each lol.

If you were selling in that volume, I don't see why you would drop your prices for the general public; giving away to friends and good customers that would have found these great deals within a few days given your volume would have been a very nice retirement present. Advertising this... thats another story.

Have you ever taken a business class? Its called an advertisement. You make something at a sensational price and hope they buy other stuff when they are there.....Would you go to a sale that said.....'E11 rifles at 3K'? No. However, you may buy a couple along with a T21 if you are already there.

My friend sold any weapon that didn't meet his standards for 1k on the bazzar, and on a vendor outside of Theed. He made a killing with his good weapons and it didn't effect the server economy at all. Don't be afraid of a person selling out his stock, because with the decay rates on weapons they will end up destroyed in a few weeks.

It is posts like this that make me wand to stay WS out of spite. I really thing weaponsmiths as (and the game as a whole) would benefit if the prices dropped to something like 10 cpu. If you wand to feed you greed by amassing virtual credit in a virtual bank account then surly a TKD/Doctor template would achieve that alt faster then any crafter.

Crafting should be done for the love of creating something. That was why I became a WS, I am quitting it again after 6 months because of the lace of social interaction (besides trying the explain what is possible and what is not to customers), but topics like this make part of me wand to stick with WS just so show that a T21 do not have to cost 40-50K.

Some weaponsmith has a blowout/burnout sale and you want to **edit** about it. It's too f**king bad that some of you feel the necessity to charge 10-50 cpu on your guns. Thats your issue with the market and not his. You all feel like taking a crap on something go find a real issue to deal with. His stock will be sold out within a week or two and it will only have a short term impact on your sales. If just half of you spent the time and energy on real issues instead of bitching about what you don't have then maybe some real issues can be solved.

I'm so damn tired of getting a bad rap as a a money grubbing low life crafter because some of you think it's just dandy to charge an a**load for your weapons. You charge what the market will bear and you'll make a profit...oh wait that means that some of you will have to work at it which means your get rich quick scheme by being a weaponsmith has failed.

/turnseethingwithanger on

You all should be ashamed of yourself for giving this guy a raft of crap because he undercut your prices (boo hoo freaking hoo let me get you a tissue you whinney b***ards)

It's not something he's going to be able to sustain. You should all also be happy that he's going to be giving up his lots.

Take pride in what you make and let the damn market decide.

Tell you what, I'll sell my weapons cheap and 'craft for the love of the profession' when Ph4t L3wt3Rs give away +20 Weapon Experimentation tapes for the 'love of l3wting'.

Personally I don't care if a WS wants to do a blow out sale because they are retiring or trying to get rid of obsolete inventory. No biggie, the weapons will be used up in no time, or the people buying them will want to upgrade to better weapons eventually. But there's nothing wrong with wanting to make money off your trade either.

T-21s may notHAVE to cost 40-50k. Though, krayt tissues don't HAVE to cost 200-300k a piece. Doc buffs don't HAVE to cost 25k. Avian meat doesn't HAVE to cost 400cpu.

As someone mentioned above, greed stems from multiple directions - funny to see how the 'greedy weaponsmith' sentiment has faded off in light of uber loot sales. 10cpu for weapons? Good for everyone? Shall I tell that to 40 million credits spent to obtain +2 experimentation? 27 million for a +10 tape, which was probably obtained by an afk borgle cave looter? His AFK macro is worth 4 months of profit where I worked my butt off?

Consider perhaps that market force and need for personal time just MIGHT drive the pricing? It does for me. I don't worry about how much money I can score off people each sale. I want fully stocked vendors, available with everything for everyone at a fair enough price.

Problem?

If I price at 10cpu, I'd be bought out and my stuff would be resold at 300-400% markup. My vendor would need constant restocking, I'd do nothing but run factory runs all day trying to keep my vendor stocked for RESELLERS (a profit driven group)while my true customers are wondering why my vendors are always empty.

I price so that I am not targetted by resellers for mass purchases, and yet cheap enough to be considered a solid deal (against other weaponsmiths with similar benchmarks in weapons). "Greed" for a "virtual account" has nothing to do with it. Keeping a nice group of solidly loyal customers and never having an empty vendor, andcontrolling sale volume by adjusting price so that maybe I do have time to do something for fun once in a while - means I have to price above your magical 10cpu.

Perhaps you'd take that on board instead of laying prejudicial broad strokes and acting like you are God's Gift to the weapon consumer and insinuating we are all trying to gouge. I somehow doubt if suddenly Avian meat stopped going for 400cpu that the doctors will suddenly lower buff prices. I doubt if we dropped prices to 10cpu that suddenly Krayt hunters don't try to hock off tissues at extortionate rates.

The irony of it all is all of these prices are derived from the very people who pay these prices. I don't want to have to tellGun_User_1 to makeXYZ krayt rifle it costs X hundred thousand credits, but if that is what I have to pay Gun_User_2 to get such ingredients.
