Thread: Does anyone else hate the word Uber besides me?
Do I like useing the word, but it is part of the lexicon in the game now. Is there a better word any of you can think of that dosent sound corny. Super sounds right out of a comic book. Great is mundane. Fantastic makes you sound queer. No offense gay guys. Awesome sounds like your half baked. Stellar sounds like it would fit, but then again it also sounds like it belongs on american idol. Unworldly might get you banned sounds like you cheated somehow, as does unbeleivable. Godlike gets you marked as a heretic. Epic sounds like you have lost touch with reality. Nice sounds like you are going to go pick flowers with it. Terrible will confuse people. Gnarley is worse then epic. Groovy sounds like your on acid. Supreme sounds arrogant. Top of the line is to telemarketer. Over the top is so much hyperbole. Legendary is already used. Excellent is vague. Dominateing sounds well like something michael jackson does with children. Insane crazy makes you sound insane crazy.
Here is a good word or term we can use flawless. Makes alot of sense. Flawless being the best one could get. So your near flawless. Far from flawless, or flawless. As we have seen from uber if you use the word enough people start to use it then have no choice in the matter.
Here here.
I have been tempted on a few occasions to just name all of my wares Uber ***, as in Uber Reinforced Combat Staff, or Uber Tusken Rifle and tack on a couple extra thousand credits to them to see if anyone bites. I've also almost crafted configurable dice and named them Uber Butt Plug, but I know that doing that would be frowned upon. Oh well, guess I'll just keep making my Nifty Keen weapons.

But I must admit that I try to avoid anyone looking for uber weapons. They have seen a weapon with unusual stats and want to have something better than they have seen, even if there is only one WS in the world out there who could make this weapon or this is even a rare loot drop (see the T21 thread in this forum). It is just too much fuss to tell them what they seek is nearly impossible and they won't believe you anyway...
There is alway the every popular "Extreme". Or perhaps "Ultra". How about "Super-Duper"?
Let's test it out in a conversation in Theed:
Cust: Are you a Master Weaponsmith?
WS: That's what's floating above my head.
Cust: Kewl! Can you me a Exxtreme Uber Ultra Super Duper T21 Rifle.
WS: (Cringes as the biles rises up his throat)
I guess those adjectives won't work either.
Yes.
Along with: borked, devs (or other abbreviated words), broken (when speaking of specials or professions), anything that ends in Y or IE that isn't supposed to, just to make it sound cute, nerf(ed), l33t, anything that ends in "ggles" that shouldn't, or really just any useless "cute" internet gaming word.
