Weaponsmith Archive
Thread: Quarterly Top 5
- Loot is unbalanced across the board, some items (Rancor Teeth) worthless and unused.
- Weapon schematics (warhead, etc) not being used in any schematics.
- Tangle, DL44 .. etc, never being bought/crafted.
- Beam Rifle cert still broken (thus useless).
- Lack of weapons/weapon variety (honestly, if all of these useless weapons/items worked, nobody would be complaining about variety.)
Beserker Rifle - 18 votes
- Enough said.
Storage - 14 votes
- Resources not stacking beyond 100k
- Loot components not stacking
- A myriad of other issues that force us to waste space
Looted Weapons Too Common - 13 votes
- Most notably, polearms/DOT weapons.
- Too difficult to sell anything unsliced nowadays.

A question about the slicing comment...is it being proposed to let Weaponsmiths slice their own stuff simply by being a smith, or would it be required to get the slicing line in smuggler just to get weaponsmith. If the former thats a decent idea...if the latter then I feel its crazy, I sell, and have only sold unsliced weapons and I do just fine as it is.
Nothing of the sort has been proposed. The Weaponsmith community is simply stating that it is getting tougher and tougher to compete .. and without any intervention, it will only continue to get worse. The entry point to Weaponsmith requires not only top-notch resources, but in many cases, millions of credits worth of SEA tapes and a Slicer. How that intervention is going to be handled is really out of our hands for the time being, unfortunately.
As for your experience with selling unsliced guns, it is possible. But your experience and luck with selling unsliced guns doesn'tmeaneveryone else is having the sameexperience. Servers are their own living, dynamic entities, they're all very, very different. Some servers simply have more "name-brand" long-term Weaponsmiths who slice all their weapons; others do not because all the top smiths have since retired. If you're on the former server, obviously, it's going to be tough as nails for you to compete. Others are stuck on older, more matured servers flooded withcutthroat competition -- this is where slicing really becomes crucial.
To sum up the answer to your question, no proposals are being decided. We're just simply getting the word out that this is an issue we feel needs to be acknowledged by the developing team.

i agree that something definetly needs to be done about the slicing of weapons
i deal with more enhanced weapons then i do standards, and i get everything sliced before i sell it because i know that customers do not want to pay for a 5 million cred acklay/krayt weapon only to get a speed slice, rendering the weapon almost completely useless.
with the bad slice, it becomes much much harder to sell the weapon to even make 50% of what you paid for the enhancement
i dunno exactly what should be done, but i definetly think something should be
