Thread: WS do the repairs?
Um yeah I will have to disagree with my coleague on this one. A weaponsmith has a better repair chance then a non ws. Though I am betting that alot of that repair can be found in artisan. So a master weaponsmith is better then a master artisan. A master artisan is better then a combat.
Why else would their be general repair tapes in the game. Unless someone has a skill mod for repair. Personally I have also noticed that my weaponsmith can sometimes do repairs that boggle the mind. Say pull back a gun with one point of condition left. Anytime my combat tried to repair a weapon with this bad a state. Fall apart guaranteed.
The patch nerf is just a pull back on success rate. I havent blown up a weapon in a month, and while perfect repairs are alot harder they are still possible. I kind of agree with this policy. Bad for repair gougers good for those actually looking to make weapons. Though I would say that the repair kits need a serious looking at. It is just too dang easy to make a 99 percent model.
No a weaponsmith dosent get the same kind of results we once did, but its better to use a master weaponsmith to repair, and lose a hundred points on durability rather then take the risk and blow up a valuable gun.
repairing your weapon / armor when its say 50% yeilds better results than say repairing at 25%...i keep tools on me and have almost never had items fall apart..ps im not a weaponsmith
when they come for your guns...give 'em the bullets first![]()

The same people who told us there was no change to repairs? Pardon me if I take what they w/ a grain or five of salt.
If recollection serves at one point there was a certain percent failure rate in repairing items reguardless of quality of tool. Were we nerfed or did they fix an existing bug that we were obliviously useing.
I really have to reiterate this is a good thing. It will provide a more dynamic economy. Your a weaponsmith you sell weapons to make credits which you use to get resources to make even better weapons. A gun that lasts three months hurts the market, because that person is not buying a new weapon.
The simple fact is with a decent polysteel you can make awesome repair kits. Infact everyone can. Is there really a value to the percentage anymore.
I do not think they nerfed the repairs really. I think they fixed something that was broken.
hmm not sure i agree with you on this. Does this mean there is a grenade experimantation skill? or a heavy weapons skill? i know there are plenty of those tapes in the game...

Does anyone actually KNOW the answer to this one? We are all speculating about something that is important to us weaponsmiths, and also to our customers and their beloved prized (but falling apart) weapons. What the game needs is a definite weaponsmith repair skill so that both the weaponsmiths and the customers can see the likely chance of repair and understand the risks they are taking. As many of you know, a lot of repeat business depends on your reputation. I had a customer's weapon fall apart in my hands even though I had a good tool. He never bought weapons from me again! Until I can offer a reliable repair service, I just sell the tools and let them geton with it! But repairs are something I'd like to be able to offer as a professional and reliable service, and there's good money to be made there! Now we wait for the devs.
