Thread: Really struggling for XP

I'm having a fairly difficult time advancing from Novice TKA to get any of the skills. It seems to be taking me an inordinately long time. I've got 68% Ubese and a good set of VKs, but I seem to get owned by bigger mobs. Without having KD/Dizzy, is there a strategy for going in solo and surviving? I don't have any bleeds, and although I do have soe CH skills they aren't much. My rock beetles may not survive . Just looking for suggestions. Maybe I'm fighting the wrong stuff!

First, I'd say pay the 15 skill pts and get novice medic, and some Stim-B's so you can heal yourself. Next I'd say perhaps don't take on such high level mobs... which type are you fighting, btw? What you fight is really up to you. You have a pet, so you can use a tank. With novice medic you can also buy and use pet stims to heal your pet too! I think that is the single best advice I can give. If you already have medic skills, then perhaps get some advanced ubese, as it has lower encumberance. Use/intimidate1 and /unarmedBlind1 and /warcry1 when you can, as these decrease the damage that the mob delivers. Using /berzerk is great too.

Take into account though, the cost of taking on higher level mobs. You spend more time and money on them, when in the same amount of time (usually) you can take on several lower level mobs, get the same xp, and save the meds. Bottom line is its all up to you and how you want to play! Have fun and keep us updated!

I really suggest going either Tatooine and kill everything that you come by or travel to Tatooine and try huurton missions. They're group aggro tho but with help of rock beetle you should be able to pull only one or couple. If you want to get it more easier, I suggest you to getting least 1100 in CH and get pre-trained (or do it yourself) sludge panther. It can tank huurtons and pikets for you quite easily.

Try and get piket longhorn missions in Dantooine. They are social sometimes so you will have to watch it. Alternatively also try huurtons missions likewise in Dantooine. Since you have a pet let it attack first and then you. Also get novice medic if you have not and stock up on good quality stim Bs. That way you can use unarmed 2 quite a bit and then heal yourself. Of course you will have a high mind and high mind regeneration. I got something like 30 thousandof unarmedexperience per piket longhorn mission and I was able to get a tier 1 skill in a couple of hours. And if you have a pistol bleed then use it on the target before you use your knuckles. Since bleeds dont give you ranged weapons experience you will get all unarmed experience.

Ok, thanks guys. I made the mistake of believing someone when they said "Go to the force caves, you'll be fine!" Uh huh. Sure . That was a fairly scary trip just to realize that anything there would own me! I'll see if my beetle can do some damage. I'm at 1112, so I know when I get to 1113 I'll be able to pull out TWO beetles to help .

dude, if you are 1-1-1-2 CH, get a Greater Sludge Panther! You only need to be 1-1-0-0 to use one! They have 8000 ham stats and are GREAT tanks!

I should, I know. I've been procrastinating on getting one. I have a Rancor baby that someone gave me that I haul out from time to time, but he's soon going to outgrow my command skills until I level CH a bit more . I wll probably hunt down a GSP tonight.

Ha ha the force caves. Went there as a commando and the thing that killed me was not the FS but the frigging farmers who so lagged the place up that I felt like I was in the Matrix. But yes by all means get a sludgie but be careful when you use him against NPCs. Sludgies are vulnerable to energy

1. Every play session get a full set of master doc buffs

2. Get a GSP or a Grand Wrix (or both since you can store more than one pet) and use them to tank

3. Fight everything with merely beserk. Try to intimidate a few times and unload on beserk. Since you are not certed with the VK's your damage is decreased. Beserk helps to alleviate that. You can't use specials but since you aren't certed for the VK's what's it matter.

Thanks for the Piket suggestion... they area lot of fun . My only problem is that I am not killing them fast enough to actually get to killing the lair! Guess I need a better pair of VKs or something. I'm also struggling to keep my Mind up high enough. Was doing well last night until 3 of them decided to eat me for dinner, so me and my GSP hotfooted it out of there. Thankfully they don't chase you much!

You might be fighting over your head or not letting your pets do enough tanking. Your specials now have a 10m range, so you can easily stand outside mob aggro range. If you want to use normal attacks with VK, stand as far out as possible - usually just inside 4m. Still, if it's taking you a while to kill mobs, you're fighting too tough. Also, if you really want a superb tanking pet, the Gronda is an often underestimated pet - CL18, 5500 HAM, light armor, 50% energy, and 50% kinetic. Useful versus melee and ranged. Good luck!
