Meh I was just sitting here thinking of memories past about swg.

I rember 1 year ago It was pointless to be a meele proffession a Ranged proffession could just kite you around and spam bleeds on you forever....

Now come the combat balance meele charcters will no longer have stacked defenses, Buffs as good as they are, armor as good as it is.

I fear the days of ranged combatants stacking templates to maximize abilitys will return

Master pistoleers with smug 0040 and bh 0040 I fear will rain supreme in pvp.

Or Carbineers with bh 0400....

I think pistols is to easy to stack and will once again become the basis for everyone in the game....

Please tell me if Im wrong... I love meele proffessions and will be forced to leave the game If I have to become a ranged one.


Whats to stop people from kiting meeles around? I suppose Extremely harsh accuracypenaltys for ranged players moving would help...

And that is as it SHOUD be. This is STAR WARS, not Jackie Chan Adventures.


I for one regret that my MBH/M-Pistols main character is all but useless in the current version of the game. It's rediculous how melee is so prevalent. Now I do believe that Melee professions have a part in this galaxy, but they should be equal if not lesser than the ranged weapon professions.


So bring on the combat revamp. Make Star Wars the way it should be! I do not remember Han Solo beating upStormtroopers with a stun baton. Never oncedid Greedo jump up and pull out a sword. I don't recallstormtroopers using kung-fu on Ewoks in the battle of Endor.

I am the melee type of person as well, but I am open to diversity. I was a TKN/Pikeman since I first started this game, launch day 2. I remember the good ol' days, but it dawned on me how strange it is in a Sci-Fi game, coming from a movie where Ranged weapons were the dominant weapon, so easily succumbed by melee. I, in fact, would love to see melee go back to being a backup profession to ranged simply for the fact that it makes sense......unless of course.....you think running directly into a group ofMasters shooting at you with nothing but your fists or a big steak knife, and then ending up killing them makes more sense.

I was told that in the CB the buffs and armor will be nerfed. You won't see any more 80% kinetic defense.

right but with buffs nerfed many will find armor to encumbering....


Reasons why ranged proffessions should not dominate in starwars......

Starwars in its self is entirely based upon 2 things


Aerial fighter combat

Jedi


I have never seen a jedi lose to a ranged proffession in the movies.... except in ep2 when there were hundreds of battle droids or when the retarted twilek jumped up with dooku.

for you to speculate that ranged should remain supreme over meele is a totally biased and selfserving opinion...


WHY does the emperor trust his life to pikeman.....

Rather than say pistoleers or rifleman......

HI,

Is this true? You mean to say that a TKM can longer stack defenses from Fencer, Pikeman, Swordsman? Or am I misunderstanding the post?

I expect to be able to stack and mix and match most of my attributes...they told me i could do that when i entered the game...it makes me feel like i have some control over how i fight.

In PvP MBH/MPistols with a decent Geo pistol fairs pretty well in PvP actually quite well if they kite as they should, as should any ranged prof in this game, and in PvE the LLC is pretty brutal (most things don't like electricity) tag in the crowd control aspects of BH and it fairs pretty well all how you play it. I am not saying BH is not in need of love, it is I know I still play a MBH on one of the servers but I don't find he is useless at all, still my second fav char to play (would be my fav but I like to Role Play my Doc) .

The flavor of the month comes in waves. It is designed that way to keep EVERYONE happy at one time or another. Get used to it.


The trick is to create different characters on different servers that you can go to when that flavor of the month changes.


This way you will ALWAYS be the flavor of the month! Enjoy!


This advice was free and cost you nothing.


Look outside the box, don't get caught up and stuck on ONE SERVER.

Well I feel like im in a bind here b/c come the combat rebalance wont it be impossibly hard to grind any proffession???


But yet If I go with a ranged proffession now(which I dont want to do) say TKM/Master rilfe

IM not as good in pvp cause I cant cure states or defense stack or cure poision/disease....


Heh I guess it doesnt really matter I love tka to much to give it up and I love tanking....

Plus when JTL comes out .... Ill be the xwing ace of the skys....

I personally think we've been molly-coddled. Buffs, 80% resistant armor, and being able to solo just about anything. I think it'll be better after this, and we'll have people dedicated to their profession. The profession loses all meaning if it is just something that can be grinded out in a few hours.


As for a melee nerf, it doesn't bother me. Doesn't suprise me, and as an above poster state, this is Star Wars, and not, (he he, made me giggle), Jackie Chan Adventurers. Either way, I don't think their needs to be a nerf...ranged professions should be given skills to make them equal to melee.


It shouldn't FotM after FotM. We should all be semi-equal. Or have weaknesses rather.
