Im a master Bounty hunter, Mrifle, Pistoleer 0404 on Valcyn. I own a 8.13 energy resist set, and a 8.11 kenetic set. Both have +350 health, 70k condition (ADKed, so doesnt matter) and 4 sockets for AAs.

Reicently i learned TKM got their UBER style points back, So i ran like a MAD girl to my TKM, MSwords doc 4000, to see my self look pretty again. I soon realized that IM an increddible melee tank. Keep in mind i was like everyone post CU i didnt understand a SINGLE thing, and judged preemptively, and stopped playingmy TKM alltogether. So i started a new character on valcyn, and i Relearned the game inside out. Im now confident in sayingmy postCU game knowledge is comperable to my preCU.

That being said, Im going to state my point. A propperly Templated TKM is the friggn bomb shiggity tank. End of story. I can actually tank and outheal an ancient krayt, if i do it right. My bounty hunter would die in no time if he couldnt root or snare. But that is with a propper usage of foods, drinks, skills, and intelligence. My BH is actually a better tank. Turn on duelist stance, he takes less damage than my TKM with COB and Sword Flury (500+160 def). My tkm is only a better tank due to its healing ability. Otherwise its a goner in no time. This brings me to my point. Inate armor is NOT comperable to high quality armor. I do not think the devs had teh forsight to ever think that crafters were going to be able to reach close to 9k resists with bases (True, im getting mine crafted now. Theres a benefit to knowing the armorsmith correspondant ). More shicking thain their lack of grasp is that other players dont see it either. Most people still think 7k+ sets are "good sets" when in actuality, they are like preCU grinding sets.. junk. Wich is why i think most TKMs think inate armor is "on par."

Given the Quality of new armors TKMs need a boost. But Im at a loss for how this will work. My only feasable sollution is: Make inate armor Increase with your combat lvl. You get a base armor for being TKM, and as your CLVL increases so does your resist.

But i dont know.. That might be a poor idea. Either way we need a boost.

Even 10K (the cap) is only 60%, I know I grinded with better pre CU. You are aware that the percent increase is lower than the percent decrease? For example 6K (48%)to 8K (56%)is only a 8% increase while 6K to 4K (36%)is a 12% decrease. As you can see, the devs are well aware how high armour can be made, that is why they set it up the way they did. I am just fine with Inate Armour as is and people can blow millions on armour if they feel better about it.

you got that right...y spend money on armor when u can hav it innately? anyways like he is mentioning above the diminishing returns system is wat causes this reduced increase per skill mod point gained...along with that, tka has other abilites (improved CoB, and also there is one other combat move that increases ur defenses) that will put a TKM's dmg absorption up to par with other proffessions and their 8.1k armors.

And never BREAKS (or you don't need a 10M ADK for each piece)

Beause, they will win in a fight ,thats why. When you cant damage your opponent, you notice the difference from 6k to 8k. Also that "minescule 8%" you speak of makes a large difference when your looking at a rifleman with a 1300dmg weapon using snipershot. My point is 6k inate armor is Not comperable to any other class. As per it costing money, its relatively cheep. Millions are pennies to most people.

You are aware your example demostrates the opposite of what you wanted to.

That 1300 dmg shot on me at 6k would hit you for 1196. (1300 - (1300* 8%))That is NOT significant in the least. The 104 you are saving would be lost once elemental is working correctly.

And millions may be pennies to you but it is not to all of us.....so free is good and, obviously by your example, makes VERY little difference at the high end.

And while you are preventing that energy damage an equally damaging kinetic weapon smacks you around for even more damage than I am taking.

millions maybe for the armor it self, but unless you want to be replacing it at least once a week you will have to ADK every peaice.
That's what? 7 Adks? so about 75 million credits for your 8k suit compared to my zero credits for my 6k suit? Plus the fact that I can wear whatever outfit I choose.

Thanks, but no thanks. I would rather take the 8% more damage then worry about armor.

Especially since most TKM have some decent doc or CM abilities.

I've never seen a million credits in my account in my 490some days of playing, and don't plan to. You go spend your money on armor with a 2000some more difference, I'll keep my 6k resists anyday.

and while u have to pay another millions for AA's (which will be lost when the armour is gone) i pay some K for a BE-Jacket and some BE-Pants with +25 mods. And the CA's i use additionally will hold as long as the clothes, which is a loooong time.

all i can say is once "rooting" is fixed the ranged are gonna be in trouble, breaking upon damage dealt is gonna hurt them bad, and as for the Duelist stance it only returns fire to ranged attacks not melee, tested myself when i was bh (PostCU), as for the 8k resists, armor makes you move slower and as for a rifle doing 1300 damage to a tkm, haha rifleman wish, me and a master rifleman friend duel regularly and with CoB when he roots and tried to hit me hes lucky if he gets a 500 hit on me, tested, tried and true, this is with him using a 1200 T21, ouch normally, but he ends up losing the fight due to a lack of healing and minimal defense against melee, tkm is the best tank in the game no matter the challengers attack type, with a tkm/master doc/ 2020 swordsman, only a jedi can deal enough damage and out heal me, its as simple as that, and once master doc gets the new publish 19 look out all the ranged will be crying nerf on doc and tkm, 1600 heals with bacta shot from master doc, hehe welcome back master tk's of old we comin back, now if we could just get a few more moves in tk, as for innate armor, you can spend all the money you want on ebay and buy your creds to buy nice armor while we move freely without armor and will close distances quickly while you keep trying to get away lugging your heavy rifle and armor around, when we close, can anyone say KD, critical attack, DB hehe MELEE FOREVER
