with the new mitigations it is going to be a huge advantage to get ranged mitigation with tkm. Ranged mitigation will protect us from evil kiters and the such. However many people will realize this and switch from non combat professions to melee profession+ranged profession templates. So everyone is going to be doing less dmg now that is clear. If any of you remember the 4 day period in which pvp had 2 75% reduction mods on it you will remember the ppl who had kd+dizzy ruled. So tkm will give you that. However it is going to take a long time to slug away and finnish the person you just dropped. This is where your second proffesion comes in--commando. The most effective way to use this is KD2+dizzy, flamesingle2, flamecone2. Now the person is on the floor for an extended period of time and stacked with 2 750 dmg flame dots (this is assuming they have ranged mitigation, if they dont then its 2 1500 dmg flame dots). this template gives you the ability to quickly make your target combat ineffective and then terminal, and then best of all you can quickly move to the next target and simply forget about ther person roasting on the ground.

NEW FIGURES WITH THIS TEMPLATE (unarmored):

eyeshot/torsoshot from a scatter with 50-200:
max dmg in pvp->60 dmg
average dmg in pvp->37.5 dmg

Advanced strafe from T21 with 200-500:
max dmg in pvp->250+AP dmg YIPES!, strap some armor if you see a rifleman
average dmg in pvp->175+AP dmg

confusion shot from laser carbine with 75-277:
max dmg in pvp->83.1 dmg + AP
average dmg in pvp->52.8 dmg + AP

stoppingshot from an FWG5 with 100-500:
max dmg in pvp->250 dmg
average dmg in pvp->150 dmg

give or take 10-20 dmg with all these numbers, but otherwise they are all fairly accurate.
If I had stats for melee weapons and their dmgg mods I'd do those too. However this should give you an example of how potent mitigation is going to be. What will blow your mind is that all of these stats are without armor. Some light hitting classes wont even be able to deal enough dmg to dent. Also, if you are not weilding you will also have some unarmed toughness to account for as well. Once our cOb works we will hopefully be able to dodge,counter,block... most attacks.

isn't the mitigation only active when you have a wepon from that tree equiped. So say mitigation from TK would only work with no weapons or knucklers equiped?

To get the best of both worlds I'd be more inclined to take pistoleer... They have some nice bonuses to defense vs, knockdown, as well as dizzy which is something we're severely lacking in.

Sure it might not be the heavy hitter that commando is, but it essentially serves the same purpose (IMO... I'm going on the premise that you want both mitigations) but with quite a few less points (only having to get to pistols IV in marksman as opposed to master).

No such thing. Unless you are the dreaded "min-maxer" roleplayers love to hate,andthe reason I don't PvP. No point because everyone min-maxes and its a bunch of clones running around shooting/punching/sicking pets on each other.

Still, it was good work to sit down and figure this all out. Maybe one day i will join the sheep in PvP...

I'm not sure what a min-maxer is, but you dont need to have a melee weapon armed for melee mitigation and you dont need to have a ranged weapon equiped for ranged mitigation. And I dont consider that pvp turns us into sheep. Pvp takes much more strategy and research than pve. In pve you can just sick a pet on someone and blast away. This is not the case in pvp at all. lol, maybe I am a sheep. But I'm the black sheep if I am

lol, I'm a commando, I never use 1 attack more than once in a row unless my kd2 doesnt stick. I use every single button on my toolbar during pvp. How many people can say that? In one 14 minute battle with another tkm/commando I used every singe button in my toolbar and then had to switch to a different toolbar for xtra attacks and macro I only use in extremely select surcumstances. Most ppl underrate the potentcey of intimidate. If you are being beaten by swordmen its because your not using intimidate and waycry effectively.

Does any of this matter since KD/Dizzy doesn't even work anymore?

Sheep all look the same. PvP'ers are all the same classes as witnessed by the 'best tkm + _____ template'.

A black sheep is still a sheep.

I do agree that a lot of strategy is required to find the right combination of buttons to spam.

You mean all PvP are Master Fencer/_____. TKM was the FotM last month.

whell since we're on the subject, i've finally decided on mine, i think it will be kickass under 20m (and over 20m? well, that's what a speederbike is for)

combat skills
tkm mb heavy swords xx44 carbines xx4x

leaves a little left over for non-combat stuff. great mitigation, great head damage, amazing CoB (w/ sword equiped), decent all-around defense. I'd love to add fencer 4xxx too but doubt i can afford it. Would also be nice if i went master 2handed as well: 2hm mb tk 42x4 carbines xx4x as well...

Will let you know in a few weeks how it plays out Here's the sticky point, swords have good damage potential and lots of nice head stuff (+ the most excellent AT-ST killing skills) but the powerhammer is getting slaughtered with damage mitigation (can warcry keep them paused enough for the fist bleed tick to come thru? if so the the hammer is still somewhat useful in pvp ). TKA (and fencers), however, are barely effected by damage mitigation, so far as i can tell, so in pvp we're probably still the better master class...

yes, warcry will keep them delayed enough for the DoT, or it seems that way to me. No need to flamecone2 with your template either I went through a ton of nyms guards with a similar combo. I use dizzy/kd2/warcry, then switch to FT and flamesingle2. If there is a group of guys, then I will use the dizzy/kd2/warcry on one, then on another, then switch to FT and cone shot the rest if I can This is great for most battles. In PvP you never know.
