Hi, I am a master TK and lately I have been owned by just about every profession but artisan. lol
Accually it isn't funny, I am getting a bit embarrassed. What I as hoping is that someone could make up a TK must have list so i can possibly be more effective again.

Thanx,

Stickies are the posts above the rest of the posts in the thread.

Like, go back one page and look at the top of the posts. There's an area there of posts that never move - hence they're called "stickies."

I've been doing TKM for awhile, I'll try to get together a list of stuff for ya in a bit.

1. Migrate Stats

First off, before anything else, make sure your stats are properly migrated.

Hit CTRL+C and click on the Stat Migration button. Now, lower your Health and Action (and the 2 stats below each, called "secondaries" which control the speed of Health/Action regeneration (Strength/Quickness) and the costs of performing attack specials (Constitution/Stamina). Move all those way down. I'll explain later.

Now, move up your Mind values as high as they will go. Don't forget Focus and WIllpower, too. Boost Mind first, then Focus, then Willpower.

Any remaining points should be distributed evenly among your Health and Action stats.

Now, click Done and find an Image Designer to migrate your stats.

Why did we do this? Due to the fact that, as buffs currently work, Doctor buffs for Health and Action give you a flat stat bonus (like, say +2400 no matter what your stats are). Mind buffs from a Dancer/Musician will only DOUBLE your current stat level. So, a 600 stat for Mind would get Dance buffed to 1200. If the Mind had been 1100, you'd have had 2200 for your Mind after Dance buffing. Same with Musician buffs, only for Focus/WIllpower.

2. Buffs

Doctor buffs are a huge help. Get the best you can. Stick close to a Doctor in battle, if you're unsure of yourself. They'll heal you. Never run away from a Doctor when you need help If nothing else, just stop moving all together.

Always have Vasarian Brandy and Vagnerian Canape handy - Brandy (get 50 filling or under, take 2) for Mind/Focus/Willpower boostfor around 40 minutes,Canape(get 33 filling, take 3 at once) for Focus/Willpower boost for around 10 minutes. Right when the battle starts, or right before, don't forget to chug that Brandy and eat that Canape. It will even out your Mind stats roughly with your Doc buffed stats. If possible, /powerboost right before battle, too - and your stats will be nice and hearty.

3. Technique

This involves "getting your moves down."

Pick a hotkey bar and clear it completely (like, make bar #6 your PvP bar). Reorganize the following moves until you're comfortable with them and know them without looking. You want to react and hit a button, and know what that button does. Give yourself time to learn your new "interface."

Now, fill it with some good, powerful, and directed moves, such as:

/centerofbeing (with Vibroknucklers unequipped, this increases your Melee Accuity, which helps a lot)

/unarmedheadhit1 (attacks the target's Mind only - wail on someone with this when they're on the ground)

/intimidate1 (reduces damage done to you by the person you've intimidated)

/warcry1 (cone effect, several targets get delayed by 10 seconds until you damage them i.e. hit em again, great for running away)

/unarmeddizzy1 (makes your opponent dizzy and they have a chance to fall down when changing posture)

/unarmedknockdown2 (causes blind (or stun?) and a dizzy/knockdown - doesn't always drop your opponent - SEE BELOW)

/unarmedlunge1 (Valuable compliment to /unarmedknockdown2 - forces posture change - SEE BELOW)

/unarmedhit3 (when their Health/Action is really low, use this to finish them off quick)

(make a new macro, called anything, with the following command in it)

/ui action clearCombatQueue <----- clears your Combat Queue of fighting commands, so you can get right to the move you want!

And last, but very much not least:

/forceofwill (this little fella will give you a *chance* to jump back up when incapped with full HAM, like you weren't even damaged)

Force of Will is tricky, and sometimes it fails. Sometimes it'll get you back on your feet at full health. Sometimes it'll give you massive wounds. Sometimes you'll get back up with wounds/damage. Sometimes is just doesn't work. I've heard it depends on your Battle Fatigue as to whether it works - not sure.

*** Using Dizzy/Knockdown ***

Ok, the thing about making someone dizzy and knocking them down is that it's really easy for YOU to pop them back up on their feet.

Number 1 rule is - Don't SPAM a knockdown move, and don't SPAM an unarmedlunge move. I'll explain.

PlayerA uses /unarmeddizzy1 on PlayerB -or- PlayerA uses /unarmedknockdown2 on PlayerB

PlayerB is dizzy

PlayerA uses /unarmedlunge1 on PlayerB <---- forces posture change (force to kneeling) - /unarmedknockdown2 does this for you

PlayerB is forced to kneeling

PlayerB falls down!

NOW - PlayerA can happily wail on PlayerB all they like, but if they use /unarmedknockdown1 or /unarmedknockdown2 or /unarmedlunge1 on their opponent when they're on the ground, they'll pop back up to standing immediately. You don't want that - you want them on the ground where you can whoop em!

So, take your time with the /unarmedknockdown2 or /unarmedlunge1 - wait for the knockdown or the posture change. When they drop, use /unarmedheadhit1 to waste their Mind stat. Or use /unarmedhit3 to take out their Health/Action if it's low. Mind is usually their weak point. Test how badly head hits hurt them. Then try Health/Action. Attack their weak point.

Let's say you freaked out and were spamming /unarmedknockdown2, and suddenly you DO knock them down! Now what?

Hit the /ui action clearCombatQueue button. This gets rid of all your specials spam that you queued up. Now, just hit the /unarmedheadhit1 button and away you go. Your opponent will try to stand, and most likely fall down again, but you can keep whoopin away on them. Eventually, they will stand again...so you may want to throw in an /unarmeddizzy1 in there to keep that dizzy state nice and fresh.

When you've incapped them, double click on your enemy to /deathblow them and they will die.

Hope that helps a bit, good luck!

Warryyr, if you create a new post with this info (and a title that reflects what it is) I'll sticky it in the useful info thread, or if you want me to I'll just copy and paste it into one. Nice summary write-up for those who don't want to scan through the FAQ

Just a minor note for the clearing of combat queue macro. If you find yourself strabbed for hotkey space, CTRL+backspace is the default shortcut to acomblish the same. I can't remember if it can be remapped to a single key.

Great guide Waryyr, I would only modify the food section a little bit.... better to take 1 ahrisa to get zero mind cost then 3 canapes. Then you can take synthsteak, aircake, or whatever else you want as well.

I'm pretty sure stun works similar to intimidate, reduces damage done to you... by 25 or 30%, cant remember.
