Stun doesn't decrease the damage an opponent does. That's intimidate. Stun lowers the defenses of a target.

I thought it had the same effect as intimidate, just to a lesser extent.

If that was the case then what would be the point in stun in melee? Everyone gets intimidate as a novice brawler.

atama is right. stun lowers your targets defense. in a duel it is best to intimidate them, then lay a stun THEN try to dizzy / kd, or you can blind first. as stated though, remember teras kasi has a butt load of state attacks, a successful duelist knows how to use them. When I get back in game (next few days) I can set up some tests to determine exactly how successful stun is, to lower defense, along with some other useful attacks.

tested it last night when I was doin some hardcore pvping :@)

I challenged a friend who was in my group to a duel and asked if i could test this here are the results with my vk equiped

min 56

max 205

I would use knockdown straight away, then dizzy, warcry + intim, then use head hit and i was hitting them for about 150-250 worth of damage with every hit

now i tried this on the same person

I would use knockdown straight away, then dizzy, warcry + intim, Stun then use head hit and i was hitting them for about200-300 worth of damage with every hit

we tried this about 4/5timesand all the results pointed that stun increases your damage to the target

but try it yourself you may get different results

I would bet that your increase in dam comes from lowering your opponents toughness. Im not sure though..

Perhaps your friend could check his skill chart listed in the skill-tree window (Ctrl-s) while stunned?

Thanks for looking into this and sharing your results.

Stun lowers the targets toughness, although it's a very minimal amount. It also reduces the stunned targets damage by some 25 - 30%.
Now I'm not sure if it lowers other defenses such as dizzy / kd, but I have found it easier to dizzy / kd people who are stunned.

Did you also measure your damage when you're the one who is stunned?

When stunned your damage output is reduced. If you getintimidated as wellthen i think the numbers work out like this using /unarmedHit3 in PVE:

avgUH3 = 2000 pts dmg

IntimidatedUH3 = 1200 pts dmg

stunnedUH3 = 900 pts dmg

Using this on someoneI'm pretty sure that itmakes it easier for you to stick states on your opponent not to mention thatZabs can't use equilibrium when stunned.

Oh and personally I'd save the Canape until your mind buff runs out it's better to use Ahrisa since it'll last as long as the brandy.

This is what I though also, it seems both Atama and I are correct, but I could be wrong

ok I tried it in a pvp session last night took on 3 targets .... stun may actually drop the targets capablity of hitting hard :@)

I was overt in coronet and got jumped by 3 peops managed to get away but i was fighting for at least ten minutes and they wasnt actually doin that much damage to me ... i was using stun and intimidate and a riflemen was only hitting me for 81 damage instead of a usual 400 +

So stun must just drop some defenses then be a similar effect to intim

but hey it works a treat either way so i say use it anyway :@)
