Thread: Giant Spined Snake, a slap in the face of every TKA

I have a little problem. I was on Lok trying to fight the Giant Spined snakes (about 5k HAM), and when I tried to melee it, I would get the "out of range" message the whole time!! Mind you, the snake was whacking me but I couldn't hit it. Theres nothing worse than being kited while standing still!!

Am I doing anything wrong, or is that monster unfightable by a TKA? It was always 5m away no matter what I did to try to close the distance.

If anyone else has had this problem, or knows of a solution, please post!!

the problem is the creature attacks just outside the VK's and maybe even melee range. this happends to me withmallocks (sp?) on dathomir. i just stay on him the best i can not sure what else can be done. hope that makes sence.. been up awhile =)

I have found with giant snakes (only after igot agiant crystal snakeas a pet and watched it fight NPC's) that the you have to be behind its head to hit it. The snake itself is drawn much larger than the "sweet spot" we can hit hand to hand.

Sounds funny yes, but trust me.

I take these snakes all the time with VK's on just drive it back when you pass its head stop youll hit once or twice repeat this is like any long necked creature your attack point is center body so with the long necks you gotta drive them. Another fun one is trying to hit a Humbaba going up or down hill.

This happens even with Fanned Rawls on Naboo.

I've had this happen to me many times. And yes, I was also fighting fanned rawls on naboo. When I took off the vk's I did notice a difference.

Fambaa's are the single most annoying creature in the universe for a tka to beat. Not only do they con yellow so they're kinda tough, but they are constantly out of range so you have to keep creeping up on them which then causes them to keep moving away from you. They really need to increase the hittable range on creatures like that.

Supposedly our VK's are going to get a range increase of 5m. It might help. It would be nice.

I have that problem with ALL KINDS of snakes -- just take your VKs off, especially since unarmed damange is so good now I frequently opt to style more and use VKS less.

When you take your VKS off you'll do fine.

The same happens with many "long" creatures. If you're lucky, you can keep moving to counteract the long creature's just-out-of-range positioning. I've been owned by many a fanned rawl before I took up a ranged weapon (carbine) to fight long creatures.
