Since I am running SWG on my 800 mghz juggernaut of a computer, I wish to go into cities as rarely as possible. I am going TKA/rifleman with the scout exploration branch maxxed out and the camping branch 1 or 2 or 3 boxes, and I was going to put the rest in medical forage and wound healing in the combat medic tree. Do I really have to bother? When you click on novice TKA and read the med. skill description, it says "skilled meditaters can even slowly heal wounds". Any opinion on this? How slow is the healing, really? I would love to have those medic points for something else if I don't really need them.
P.S. If I pick up newbie dancing, can I heal my own mind wounds by watching myself dance? I would NEVER have to go in town then

Well, I also have some medic and scout on my way to TK Master. I plan on selling back my medic skills when I reach a decent level of Meditate. When you reach the best level, you won't really need the medic I believe.
Med in combo with a camp is a good thing though. Low downtime.

Triforcer, I would recommend keeping the medic skills until you get high enough in the meditate skill to start healing wounds. I am not sure exactly which box it is, but I know it is not novice, and pretty sure it is not the other low-tier ones.

I was a TKA master in beta. I can testify that at the higher levels, mediatae simply rocks. You'll never need a doctor. Ever. Unless they nerf it. They did improve meditate during beta, but at that time I already had med maxed, so I never tested the newly buffed med skill at the lower levels and cannot really speak to that.

Meditate will heal all wounds right? but won't touch BF? This if what I have been told...just wondering if this is accurate.

AFAIK, the only way to heal BF is in a cantina w/ an entertainer. Meditate seems to address all other forms of ailments, including wounds, bleeding, disease, etc.

Triforcer...dancers can only heal BF in cantina's, though I wish they could do it in camps as well since that would be huge advantage, but at least you'll be able to take care of the wounds and what not on your own

entertainers can heal in camps, so with meditation IV and novice dancer you should be able to heal all your wounds AND bf (yes dancers heal their own bf while dancing)

Bottom line...
Meditation at the 4th box will heal, on average, 20 wounds per second. That is increased to about 30 wounds per second when you master TK. (I say "on average" because it heals a random number each second).
As a master TK, when I die without being cloned and take that 100 wound hit to my HAM, it takes probably around 20 seconds to heal it all off. All I have to do is sit down and meditate. No wound packs to use up, no waiting for my wound healing timer, no using up the mind pool. When it comes to healing ourselves, TKAs have doctors beat. Oh, and we can heal our mind wounds unlike a doctor.
Now, medical skills are still important even if you master meditation. You still need medic to heal damage, and you need to be a doctor if you want buffs, state heals, fire cures, etc. So being a TK doesn't mean medical skills are redundant. You just never, ever need to worry about wound healing again.
Oh, we can also meditate off bleeds, disease, and poison, but that can take a little while and we're better off getting a heal from a doc if we can.

I'm not completely sure but I've heard that you can only heal wounds once you get med tech 4. I could be wrong so dont quote me on that.

At master you can also cure yourself of even the worst combat medic disease or poison in well under 12 seconds.

yes once you hit meditative master you will be able to heal all wounds. It basically heals one type of wound per tick so first take it may heal 20 mind points next tick it may heal 20 strength points. It always seems to do Action and Health last.
Also with meditate you can heal most afflictions as well including poison, disease and bleeds. Stun, Intimidate and Dizzy are a few affects that will keep you from being able to use meditate so you have to wait for those to wear off first.
