Thread: the easiest way to get us a new damage type!

make weaponless fighting stun damage instead of kenetic. i have reasoning but im having trouble trying to say itso bare with me, punching someone would cause kenetic or stun damage but since we are in need of a second damage type then we could have vibro knuckles be the kenetic damage and our fists be the stun damage. if the devs have the coding the way i think it would be then all they would really have to do it cut out kenetic and add in stun. the only problem i see for this would be people crying that tka is now overpowered in pvp so the devs may delay this until armor is balanced.

Ever been hit really hard in the face or stomach? It sure as hell stuns you for a second or two at least. But I agree with your other point too; too many people would whine and complain if we got stun damage. Especially since stun is awesome. Damn fencer kicked my ass last night with a stun baton

"Stun" damage in Star Wars refers to using a Stun version of something. It would be equivalent to being shot with a tazer. Thats the stun we're talking about: you're muscles are knocked out instantly using electricity. The stun they are referring to isn't the kind of stun that a punch gives. Though I do see your reasoning, it wouldn't work. Sorry, good try though.

you're comparing apples to oranges when you compare being stunned to actual stun damage. As listed before being hit with a tazor is -stun- damage. Being punched in the face does stun you, but doesn't relate to the other damage type. If you were going to use that logic then the stun state effect should be implied based on immersion from being slammed in the face/head. Furthermore being punched in the face is by no means compareable to being hit with a polearm or a powerhammer in the head, bascially you're saying anytime you get hit anywhere you should be -stunned-. Wont happen.

Stun damage is not the answer to our damage type problem. Just because the best PvP combat classes use stun weapons doesn't mean we need stun. Combat balance should balance out the damage types so that stun will be even with other damage types.

some people are taking this the wrong way as if im saying this to sway pvp towards us... even if this would have to wait until CB it would be quite a easy change

I thought pure unarmed(weaponless) fighting did blast damage.
This afternoon I fought a NS Elder with100% resist to kinetic, but some vulnerability to blast. With my VK's equipped, I was doing 0 damage, as expected. However, after I unequipped my VK's, I did some damage--not much, but some.

It is an easy fix but i doubt it would happen. Instead of different damage types i'd like to see our special's do certain damage. After the combat rebalance most of this 1 type of damage will all be water under the bridge..
