Thread: TKM Tanking v. Jedi Tanking

TKM's job is to tank... but compared to a jedi we have no chance. Anything that can be tanked by a jedi should be Tankable by a TKM/MD but look at a Dark Jedi Knight or Master, no TKM even has a chance. One hit and we are down, NK is the same. I dont want them to nerf Jedi anymore, but they need to remove force aviod incap, or no one can tank anywhere near their level.

I saw tanking a jedi and started thing the M1 Abrahms would do nicely. "Saber Block this jeeddai, 120 mm for teh win"

Personally I don't really feel that they should be compared, naturally a Jedi is going to be better at it, they are a class that takes a lot of work not only to basically unlock but also to work up there to where they can tank like they can.

I do so long for the days where a TKM was the only profession that could get through Jedi defenses effectively. Then they get us nerfed downto horse holding duty



Post CU MBH/MRiflemanto a Post CU TKM:

how u figure we cant tank the NK??? i can solo the thing with the right foods

I was thinking more along the lines of our abilities as damage dealers now as compared to what it was pre CU.

Unarmed should be unarmed, not unarmed using sword attacks.


TKM/MSmuggler This is what I am and whatI shall be.

My sig changes daily, today I'm complaining about my nerfed damage output, tomorrow it may be a list of Bria Jedi that have too much xp.

more correct, the title should be MASTER DEFENDER because i can assure you that without avoid incap running beforehand no jedi would stand up against a djm or knight npc. then again this is all moot because it is obvious that those npcs arent even balanced for the system. unless you think it was the devs intent to have things that can do 10s of thousands of damage to a fully armored lvl 80 pc, as balanced.

well the profession overview of tk and pretty much all the other melee classes and ranged is that you MUST combine it with other combat skills to shine, as in TKA isnt enough just by itself, you need other melee skills to really make it shine.


besides punching something should never be as powerful as swinging a gigantic pike at someones armor.


even with Taijiquan Fajing, punching metal with a fist is only going to break your own hands...

Jedi should be stronger then us if they have defender, but i find with the right food, buffs, and bacta infusion & heals i can tank and kill almost anything. If you want better tanking ability go TKM/ Master defender with some heal.

Anythingfive levels above or below you is going to affect damage output and resistance, and is thus not supposed to be solo:ed or tankable. I tanked five Night Sisters yesterday, and then four Bane Back Spiders and three more right after (without getting the chance to get my Mind up inbetween the Bane Back fights).


I held aggro for the entire fights, getting pounded,while my friend bashed away at them with carbine (my PH helped keeping aggro on whatever he was doing his specials on, I even outdamaged him with some of mine). Didn't even break a sweat.


So don't tell me TKM is broke as a tank just 'cause you can't tank a CL94 (or whatever); you're not supposed to be able to do that; and I also don't really buy the whining on the Swordsman board about their damage output either.


As for TKM damage, with the resistance we have I think it's spot on; if you're not happy with it you need to get a complementing profession.
