While Mankind is having some issues with his PC he asked that I create a thread for you all to post your first impressions of the CU in.
Some questions that would be good to provide feedback on include (but are NOT limited to):
Some questions that would be good to provide feedback on include (but are NOT limited to):
- What do you think of the Interface?
- How does it feel?
- How does Unarmed seem to be to you (damage, speed, anything and everything)
- Is there anything that you want to mention or any concerns that you have?
- Are you enjoying it?

unfortunately I don't get the pleasure of getting on tc because of the cap and so many people logging on.

Yep, I know. I'm having the same issue, and in all honesty I seriously doubt I'll bother to really try for a couple days. This is why it was a piss-poor decision to skip a closed BETA, but oh well.

The new icons suck, the EQ2 design sucks, my damage sucks, my defense sucks.
And the moves, yeah you guessed it, are sucking, too.
No, its not fun.
And i got killed by a butterfly.

First impression is that almost everything around the starter cities is instant death con. There are gangs of ranged players standing around killing meatlumps outside of Coronet. It's taking all of them to kill each of the meatlumps. I tried some missions but the first two missions I pulled were level 5 and I was incapped within 4-6 hits after initiating combat. So for me the initial reaction is: If I can't kill ANYTHING at a low level by myself the grind up to TKA is going to be a challenge.

I'm pretty certain the levels will be adjusted rather quickly. Just remember that this is the first day of BETA, so it will take a few days to get those numbers tweaked to be where they should.

I love it. Gameplay is great. Icons just take getting use to. Please play beta with an open mind and approach it like it's a brand new game.

I totally agree that since this is beta there will be lot's of tweaking and I may have sounded like I was complaining but really I was trying to convey that at initial look the mobs are WAY too tough. I would imagine the toughness of the initial mobs has been set high by design for testing puposes.

I have an open mind. But i didn't like the gameplay at EQ2, so i won't like it at SWG.

This is no new game it is SWG and makeing a new gameout of it is nothing i want when i want something new i go and play eq2 or wow.
sofar i hate the CU i dont like what they make to TKA and Commando also i dislike what they did to doc (where is my crafting). my impression sofar is that i will leave swg with all 4 accounts. As i dont like what it will be as BE/Doc, TKA/Commando, Merchant/chef, Smuggler/swordman and jedi.
i think changeing a game this drasticly is a bad idea.

Devs have siad a couple different times recently that only Bestine and (?)Eisley are set up for new players. The mobs everywhere else are too hard. But as was just said, chill peeps. Its barely been 6 hours since it came up. Lots of time to fix it. As to the icons and stuff, I think they are great. And there are some monochrome ones still there for the die-hards.
Everyone is so used to walking up to 99.8% of things in this game without a second thought, and they have been spoiled. Stay away from Nuna's, and all butterflies will likely mean incap really quick. Pick your battles. Focus on the task at hand, instead of the "gotta master or cap XP in 6 hours" mindset many people find themselves in.
