doood them guys are going to suffer hardcore... they took away the only one skill that does them any good disarmshot2 (aoe knockdown) and gonna turn it into something silly like a random ham damage shot..

i mean i understand the need for kd timers and all dont get me wrong.. but im having a problem with something here

a bounty hunter is a jack of all trades right.. dabbles in everything in the marksman range and are accomplished hunters and trappers

ok.. why for the love of all god can a bounty hunter kill a pistoleer in a straight up fight

why can he beat a carbineer in a straight up fight

why can he beat a rifleman in a straight up fight?

and most importantly because he has no melee training can he beat a tka master in a straight up fight?

shouldnt BH's be using traps and such to help them beat people? i mean come on here this is retarded everyone knows that someone that dabbles in a lot of things will never be better at any one thing than a true master of a particular trade.. yet here it is.. nerf nerf nerf... BH's win!!

I say thank god they are nerfing those over pampered children. In their letter to devs on what they wanted, one of the big things was holsters and moves just to look special.

THANK GOD THE PISTOLEERS ARE GOING DOWN.

Also, I am very simpathetic to the commandos so no one has anything to complain about till they fix commandos. yeah they may nerf KD, at least we get it. Yeah they put cert on VK's, but at least it registers we have the cert and we can actually hit with em.

bounty hunters can beet carbineers and pistoleers and riflemen because they are MASTER marksman, while the other professions only need one skill tree

Yeah they may only dabble in some, but they also are that much versitile. They are very adaptable and they are supposed to be able to to take anyone down. What good would a master bounty hunter be when he can only go after novice marksman or other low lvl classes?

He has developed the skills just for fighting, tracking, and spotting weaknesses of people/aliens/things so he can take them down for cold hard cashbecause someone has hired him to do so.

Definition: \Pis`to*leer"\, n. [Cf. F. pistolier.]
One who uses a pistol. [R.] --Carlyle.

Novice Pistoleer - The novice pistoleer gains significant improvements in short-range firearms along with a series of special abilities for nearly every situation.

Master Pistoleer - The master pistoleer has gained significant improvements in short-range firearms along with a series of special abilities for nearly every situation.

I see absolutely nothing describing this profession as being "the best profession using a pistol". It doesn't even mention anything about being an effective PvPer. For those who say pistoleers should be better than a BH or even comparable:

Master Bounty Hunter - The master bounty hunter can effectively track down and ELIMINATE almost any opponent.

I like to post this whenever people start a thread asking why a BH is able to beat a pistoleer when using a pistol.

Not only are they master marksman, BH's even have to master another basic profession before they can even put the first points into the BH line. BH's should beat all the other elite marksman professions one on one because it's a hybrid profession.

ok i can see there are some bh lovers hmm ok then why dont the devs lower exp costs to bring the lesser professions (in your opinion everything but bh) in line with the bh profession because god knows getting master marksman is hella easy.. if pistoleer or carbineer or rifleman is supposed to bow down before the might of the bounty hunter (pretty much all professions do) then why not lower the costs of exp?

now with that same mentality you are saying that bounty hunters should be able to beat melee at melee ranges too right.. i mean they are supposed to take people down and stuff..

Just because a Rogue can fight and use magical devices doesn't mean he will fight better than a Fighter and use magic better than a Mage.

In a straight up Pistol vs Pistol fight, the Pistoleer should have a definite advantage. But if the bounty hunter has half a brain, he won't do that. He'll try and take the pistoleer on at extreme range with a rifle or carbine, where that guy has a severe accuracy penalty.

Just as the Rogues are the "jack-of-all trades" in D&D,pure Bounty Hunters are able to usemost lines ofranged weapondry pretty well but they are not masters of any one. This gives them the flexibility to exploit weakness.

Once the devs decide to make the range modifier actually have a serious effect on accuracy (By increasing it's maximum value into the triple digits), this will grow more apparent.

Skill point totals, numbers of boxes, and exp spent shouldmean nothing in relation to how powerful your charactershould be. If you have the capacity to use other weapons, thus giving yourself other options...and you choose to stand andfight with the same weapon your enemy is focused in....if you lose, that's your fault.

Just the way I see the BH vs other ranged arguement.

I'll go eat some Krispy Kreme now.

Do not weep for the Pistoleer...trust me on this one.

I play regularly with a Master Pistoleer...he is NOT suffering at all, and won't be even without an AoE, low-cost, mid-damage knockdown.

Beyond that, I'll need to see how the shooting-while-moving penalties affect him, but they will have to be pretty drastic to make kiting completely worthless, and he still won't have to worry about BEING kited like some freakin' Durni.

ok i can see there are some bh lovers hmm

If this is directed towards me, I'm a master pistoleer/smuggler/tka

ok then why dont the devs lower exp costs to bring the lesser professions (in your opinion everything but bh) in line with the bh profession because god knows getting master marksman is hella easy.. if pistoleer or carbineer or rifleman is supposed to bow down before the might of the bounty hunter (pretty much all professions do) then why not lower the costs of exp?

Weapon exp is completely meaningless. You can just about master any elite weapon profession in a week of hardcore gaming. I started TKA about 5 days ago and I just have the meditation line to go. This will probably change with the KD nerf, but it will effect them just as much.

now with that same mentality you are saying that bounty hunters should be able to beat melee at melee ranges too right.. i mean they are supposed to take people down and stuff..

Thats a rediculous argument, they take people down and stuff with the weapon skills theyve been given. I would expect a riflemen to be better with a rifle than a BH because its a dead end in the BH profession. As far as melees getting killed, melees should stand about the same chance against them as they do against the respective ranged weapons the BHs use, ie: if you die alot from pistol/carbine users prepare to die against a BH using those same weapons.

If you are relying on 1 elite combat profession to complete effectively against a profession that takes up 2.5x the skill points, you are in for a rude awakening. You have 2 options:

1) pick up another and stack the defensive modifiers and gain a more diverse arsonal for the unique

...situations of PvP

2) enjoy the diversity of play that alows 160 some odd points provides you in terms of a noncombat profession

Hmmm not sure why it posted before I finished, must be tired.

Disarm was never intended to have an AOE Knockdown. They are not getting nerf'd... They are getting fix'd.

They are still "heads and tails" above everyone else.

Think of it this way, Who thinks pistoleers are unbalanced more than a melee'r?

The Rifleman and Carbineer. (If I were either, I'd just be mad at the world everyday, knowing that a man with a pistol is more accurate, does more damage per seconds and has none of the negatives of either the rifle of the carbine)

I have no pity for the poor pistoleer. It is about time I think.

Go Riflemen, Go Carbineers!
