Thread: I thought TKA was bad untill i visited the pistoleer forum

i second the question. you using meat shields? faction shields? groups? relying on alternate prof skills to incapacitate or otherwise bind aggros so you can solo without tanking? there's no way you could possibly solo to that level in five days unless you played 24-7 (even that i still doubt..we're talking close to a million xp points a day here). pampers or depends? liquid diet? or space suit? corks maybe?

1) its only 2.5 million unarmed experience. I average roughly 5-600k experience on Lok a day killing nyms.
2) Combat experience is nonweapon exclusive. When started pistoleer I had 200k+ combat experience leftover from BH. The combination of finishing pistoleer and smuggler and no place to put combat into left me with 300k when I got novice.
Once again, I'm not blowing my own horn, just reinforcing the fact that combat professions are rather easy to gain experience with at the moment. The real limiting factor is skill points. In a few months you can have all your weapon experience maxed beyond the requirements to master a profession, but you will never have more than the 250 skill points to assign to professions.
No matter how you look at it, nerfing begats more nerfing, and the devs should stop this utter bull **edit** and start working on more pressing matters.
AMEN!
It's a question of using intelligence to defeat your opponents. If you fully utilize all the available game mechanics to your fullest ability, you will win. If you run into a group of people shooting at you already, your an idiot, and a dead one at that.
You people are funny, a BH has yet to be able to take me down, I've got 12 helms each named after the BH's I've killed in my house sitting on the wall. It's a rather gratifying thing to see, considering I'm barely 1/3 through TKA.
Tata!
Not really sure how this pertains to TKA, but I'm gonna go along with it.
For one thing, simply being a bounty hunter doesn't make you a good fighter at all in my opinion. Giving them some special abilities makes sense, but I think these extra speed and accuracy bonuses are dumb, it doesn't go with their whole purpose. A bounty hunter should be all about the tracking and capture of a bounty, not neccessarily the fighting involved. I think bounty hunters should be encouraged to seek other fighting skills besides simply always being a BH/CH or BH/pistoleer which tend to be the only combinations ever seen because they either get a meatshield or they stack the pistoleer skills with their bounty pistol line to make an uber-pistoleer class (same applies to carbine but isn't as common). More skills on their line in the way of capturing a bounty alive is needed IMO. Right now they have no capturing skills at all, it's just simply find the guy and kill him every time. I think they are not quite grasping the fact that simply because you are a master bounty hunter doesn't make you Boba Fett.
I am sick of hearing BHs complain that they need these skills because they have to bring down extremely difficult bounties and can't do it any other way. Heh heh heh, if anyone else on TKA forum has seen these bounties then you'll agree, they aren't anything scary. They are talking about 1 enemy without any support, and they initiate the fight so they can get into any range they want. On top of that the enemies they fight are simply pathetic trash that all decent TKA can take out easily on their own. In the old days of classical KD even a novice TKA 0-1-0-0 could take out one of their bounties with ease.
I also hear BHs complain that they have to pay so many skill points for their class that they deserve to be a super class. SOE makes them pay that much mostly for one reason, to reduce their numbers. A poll by SOE showed that over 1/3 of all people playing SWG is a BH, this doesn't exactly fit with Star Wars, few can come close to being good enough to be a BH in this galaxy, yet everyone thinks they have what it takes. Hence, SOE makes them do a lot of work and forfeit a lot of other possiblities for this life. Seriously, if it cost less than you'd have a BH with all these skills who was ALSO a master commando, TKM, or smuggler. Just wouldn't make sense. They are multi purpose, that is why they cost so much. If they could master a bunch of things too then they wouldn't multi-purpose, they would be a specialist. That isn't their calling.
*chuckle*..
ok skill points usage the bounty hunters have the advantage.. ok
but total weapon exp on a given weapon and combat exp earned
let me see i have earned almost 3x combat exp than a bounty hunter has
and almost 1 1/2 times the pistol exp a bounty hunter has
and spent **edit** near the 217 that a bounty hunter needs to have for bounty hunter..
oh and before you go thinking youre all that because in five days you have meditation line to go.. i have been a master tka for awhile longer than you and i know what im talkin about dood..
this thread was for us to give us hope yet you turned it around to be a bounty hunter pwns everything thread..

ok.. why for the love of all god can a bounty hunter kill a pistoleer in a straight up fight
You started off by turning into a BH thread.

It was an illustration of how EASY it is to get ANY kind of weapon experience. I have nopresumption of my godliness, in fact I'm covert because my PvP skills are subpar. I started out as a BH and traded the skill away after I was making on average 230 investigation experience per hour. At that rate I would STILL be working on investigation instead of sitting on master smuggler/pistoleer. I will have spent 247 points on combat related professions and I should hope that provides enough diversity in combat to compete effectively against a BH PvP. You said that a pistoleer should beat a BH using a pistol. Nowhere in the description, nor in the definition, does it say pistoleers are the best with a pistol.
Now a legitimate gripe a pistoleer (and TKA for that matter) would be the lack of impact defensive modifiers seem to play.
DaemonMoerder, i would just like to say that bounty hunter bounties may look and BE easy to a teras kasi, but when you are a bounty hunter you cant even be a tka
bounty hunters DO need skills to take out the insanely freaking hard bounties, or (what i would prefere) MAKE THE **edit**ING CHALLENGE LEVEL ACCURATE!!
at challenge level 4 (the lowest possible, i obtained it only when i equiped a weapon i wasnt certified with) the target had 5.5k HAM and hit for 400+ damage against my full suit of composit armor.....isnt that kinda bull**edit** considering i have to run for 30 minutes just to get to him only to magically beat him and be awarded 36 investigation xp for all my time?
i have now given up bounty hunter because it isnt all it is cracked up to be, i have taken up a limbo of proffessions, but i would also like to know; since i cant find it anywhere else on this forum....
how good is force of will? how fast would you get up using it while incapped with 60 seconds left? how does it work (does it take from other stats? does it wound?)
