Thread: Where to buy/loot the best PvE/PvP VK.

I am looking for info on where to find the best VK, be it purchase or looted, for both PvP and PvE. I hear Nyms VK are good - where can I get them ? Are they tough to fight ? Buffs required etc?
I'm ccurrently Brawler 4400, TK 0010, Marksman 3334, Medic 1002. I intend to end up BH 3000 TKM ????

Go to NYMs stronghold by the are with all the cool looking buildings and start killing every nym guy in sight. You should get NYM vibro motors in the first sweep if your lucky. Take them to a weaponsmith that can make unsliced 150+ max dmg vks. Ask him/her to make you some with your motors. Then go find a master smuggler to slice it, then pray for a good dmg slice. If your lucky youll have a 210+ max dmg vk in the end

However in all seriousness if you want to buy a Vibroknuckler or anything else for that matter you should check your servers trade forums.

To be honest I'm aware of the trade forum, and the often insane prices people bid for, for Elite Masters money seems to be like water- in total abundance. However this is a new character I'm starting, he oly has two Elite Skill boxes and barely has more than 100,000 k in the bank at once -So I can't afford to start bidding in 100's of k on online auctions.
I went to Nym's got killed a few times - (Nobody said you needed buffs to kill em /shrug.) go buffed, and killed about 50 Nym's guard, Nym's Elite Guard and Nym's Pirates, which was good fun, but for some reason they seemed not to give XP ?! Anyone any idea why ?
I eventually looted a handful of Vibro Units, but they were all rather lacklustre in stats, and a few vibro motor enhancers which give more wound chance. I took them to a top Weapon Smith on our server, who said he could make far superior Vibro Units, which he did and he made my Enhancer Vibro Motors into them, and all for free ( Which was very kind.)
So I'll get all three sliced, hope for a 35% damage (Standard Damages are 38 - 147 ) and wait until I'm a bit stronger and can kill the Nym's guys more effectively. Am I killing the right guys?! What sort of stats can I hope for if I'm lucky?

You're killing the right guys, and it sounds like the VKs you got from that weaponsmith are decent. With a good slice you could have a weapon over 190 max damage which is a pretty nice VK.
It's not easy to find the right Nym motors. There are 3 kinds... One lowers weapon speed, one raises wound chance, and one raises max damage (only max not min). The only one that's really useful is the one that raises max damage. Usually that means between 20-30 points.
So assuming that you get one of those damage-raising motors, you could be looking at a VK that's close to 250 max damage with a really good motor made by a master weaponsmith with good resources and having a 35% damage slice.

Nym's motors are great for pve, but with melee mitigation in pvp, the 250 max with the 47 min gets hit real hard. you don't need to worry about it for a while, but the best you could do would be the NS motors from axkva. Ridiculously rare and impossible fora TKM to loot on his own, these increase the min and max damage on the VK.
As you are going 3000 BH, however, it would be good to note that jedi have no melee mitigation, so the 47-250 VK would be perfect for such a hunt.

The character is aimed to be pure PvE and Jedi Hunter, almost everything I do is geared towards that.
It sounds like I looted the wrong motors, I got the wound ones so I'll have to try again, with a bt more armour maybe or bring some help? I will get the ones I got sliced anway, I got a speed slice on my fist set so they are 1.7, but a damage slice on the three new wounder VK's would be better, then I can use them to get the Max Damage Motors.

As you can tell from my sig im also a WS, and i made some 170 max unsliced Vk's using +23 Nym enhancements, they are not that hard to get at times, and if your lucky you might be able to pick some up form the Bazaar, i did a few times.

If your really lucky and have a weaponsmith that stocked up on patch day Vibro Knucklers you can get one with a decent slice that is 200+

there is one on scylla trades right now with 69min 318 max.. un p/u loot some good vibro motors from Ns queen and use them.. i believed she used ones with 120max

Smoke, the Nightsister Elders have 100% kinetic resistance. You would literally be unable to hurt her, let alone solo her using TKM.
I think they might have 100% resistance to electricity too, but even if they didn't you'd be pretty lame with an LLC with your template.

Hmmph! How are you supposed to beat them then?
What about the weapon Certs of Master Marksman, will they do any damage?
*sigh* maybe I'm better off scrapping the idea of looting them myself and make do with Nym's or buy one off the trade forums /shrug
