Unarmed Damage Attachments do not work. The Issue is known to the Developers, and will be corrected with the Combat Upgrade (per the Developers themselves).
Hard Caps are on Dodge, Block, Counterattack, Melee Defense, and Ranged Defense of +125, which can be reached through a combination of skills and tapes/attachments. The only things that will help beyond the +125 cap are Chef Foods and Squad Leader Bonuses.

More confirmation is always good. I've been getting tired of having to repeatedly link to the posts from TH and JustG from when the caps were added.

wow, that is some news! thanks. one more question to add.... the attachments don't work, but if the skill is in a looted clothing will it work? or is it broken completely?

Well, the posture change defense on the robe will still work. All your other bonuses are a waste though (unarmed speed is useless if you're even close to TKM and one-handed damage bonuses just don't exist).

so.... i take it the answer to my question is any UA damage bonus is just dead? or is it just any looted clothing attachments

Ok there are three different kinds of skill bonuses in this game.
1) Bonuses from skills themselves. This also includes bonuses from a species (like the trandoshan UA damage bonus). These are the numbers that show up on the left side when you see stats like 35/38.
2) Bonuses from equipment. This includes bonuses from special items (bonuses from themepark rewards, bonuses from schematics like crafting aprons, random bonuses from looted gear, etc.), bonuses from bio-engineer clothing, and bonuses from attachments. Those bonuses are all the same, and they get added up on the right side when you look at your stats.
3) Bonuses from food and drink. These bonuses are invisible and don't show up on your character sheet at all, but still take effect. Think of thakatillo knockdown defense, burnout sauce unarmed damage bonus, evasion from aircake, etc.
Anything from the second category that provides unarmed damage would not work if attachments don't work. Once an attachment is added to an item the attachment vanishes and it just becomes a bonus. Were you to loot a tusken robe with +25 unarmed damage it would be identical to another tusken robe that you add a +25 unarmed damage tape to.
Now, Ryutek said that those bonuses should work after they fix things, so I wouldn't throw your stuff out. Put it in storage for now and keep it safe and they might work fine later.

lol.. i don't have any of that stuff right now, but now that it is confirmed broken ill start stocking up for when revamp comes
we know what the UA dmg cap will be (if there is one..)

Cheers for info Ryutek.
One question though, can anyone confirm that the Unarmed Damage food is working? I assume it is but with it been the same mod as the tapes, apear, to give I'm just curious. It's something I keep meening to get hold of but my Chef mate hasn't started making it yet, so i don't want him to waste his resources on making something that doesn't yet work correctly.
