Wait a gosh dang minute, those defenses HARD cap at 125? So if I have lets say 120 melee defense and I have +25 in modded clothing, I will only be credited with +125 effective melee defense?
I thought +25 could be added through tapes to the 125 for a mod of 150 on the capped mods? /cry

Way back when the caps were put in place the devs said they were hard caps. I'm sorry if you assumed something different but that's how it has been for a long time now. Ryutek just confirmed it in no uncertain terms.
Don't cry... This is what keeps the nerf criers from screaming about how unfair defense stacking is.

Oh I wont cry at all, now I don't have to wear the most god-awful pants in the known galaxy to ensure maximum melee defense, I mean I am sort of angry I spent money to have what I thought would be 150 working melee defense, but I am ecsatic that my toon will suffer no penalty by wearing some more stylish duds =)

You sure they dont work? My friend was grinding TKA from novice brawlerand I loaned him my 12+dmg and he said he notices a difference. If you are sure about them not working, do you really think that they will fix all the modded clothies and AA/CA we have? I will try it out with my alt tomorrow just to make sure and see if its working. Thanks

okay so your saying even though a tkm has 250 unarmed damage in the skill mods that it's only really 125?

Ok I'll address some questions...
Your friend was imagining things. Even if he was doing 12 points of damage and it worked it would have been a subjective thing whether or not it worked. That's not a large damage increase.
No. Read what I wrote earlier about different types of skill modifiers. Modifiers from skills and species bonuses are counted seperately from modifiers you get from equipment.
The CSRs do not have access to the same information that developers do. I would not trust a CSR regarding matters about what is and isn't working in the game. It's not like the CSRs are able to ask the developers direct questions the way that correspondents can.

"And a CSR just said in a ticket that they do work..."
