I started off slowly by not using a pair of knucklers while grinding the unarmed tree. Folks, if you're still stuck on unarmed3-4 or you're working on gaining the 125k xp for TKN, make sure you have a good pair of speed sliced knucklers. I bought 5 pair of knucklers for 20k, had them sliced, and ended up with 2 1.5-1.6AS.

There are many foes out there that will yeild good xp. Savage Quenkers on Dantooine seem to be quite popular, often providing 4k of unarmed xp per kill (don't bother with pikets unless you like the extra 2k credits and a loss of 1k xp per kill) I took a different route and spent close to 32 hours at Fort Tusken on Tatooine. Yes, Tusken is dangerous given the fact that almost everything above a raider will deathblow. Considering the amount of people there at a time, there are good odds that a master doc able to res/buff will be on sight. Tusken is a gold mind even at prime time. There are infinate Tuskens, eliminating the need to go back and forth to a mission terminal. While you're not gaining much money (especially if you're in a group) the loot is often decent. Ranging from crystals (twin force or singles), weapons with poison/disease, tusken gear (wearables), etc.
One thing people don't understand about Ft. Tusken is: the DEATHSPAWN. This is a nifty event where the harder tuskens spawn. Depending on how quickly each spawn is cleared, it can take up to an hour for this to occur. When it does - everything you decide to solo will yeild you no less then 4k unarmed and hit up to 5k. Most will either die durring or leave before, claiming there are too many people at the fort. If this is the case and you're in a group, you will gain massive xp. Don't be a fool and try to tackle an entire room by yourself.

Things you need to consider if you decide to tackle tusken:

Having a bleed resist or bleed defense shirt is almost a must. I've been hit up to 1.5k bleed. Whether or not this is a stack is up for debate.

Meditation will come in handy to decrease bleeding. If you have meditation 4 you will save yourself the agony of looking for wound treatment.

Powerboost + muon + fishak = your friend. Even Tusken Cheifs can hit you for 1500 dmg on the mind pool (especially if you're not wearing a helmet).

If you're a Zab, make sure you make use of /equilibrium if you're in a rut. While it has a 60 min timer, it can prevent yet another death at tusken.

Clone and insure at Last Hope's cloning center. If a doc runs out of res packs (which happens often) driving 1k rather then 4.5k from espa, saves yourself the added frustration.

Carnage champ / King: If you happen to see one of these, don't EVEN bother to solo. With 1k base mind, muon, fish, and a mind buff... I still ran out of mind @ tkm, only bringing the CC to 1/2 health. Most will shout out if they see one and I advise you do the same. Loot can range from +10 attachments to a c12 grenade. So - don't bother trying to sacrifice yourself for a grenade.

In 3 days I went from TKN to TKM at tusken. I spent 6-8 hours there a day. Asside from cloning, running to cnet when a doc wasn't available to buff, etc... It took less then 32 hours. Considering the loot I walked away with, it was a lot easier to deal with as opposed to any other creature / reward for missions.

Cool, thanks for the tips! I'll keep it in mind when I hit TK novice. (I'm almost to unarmed 4 now.)

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.

I am grinding TKM, I went to Tusken as a TK novice to get some xp... First I attacked NO one else target, I went off on my own. When people came along to find my killing the tuskens by myself, I actually get this line.. "F__King TKA'S!!" So apperently TKA's are not entitled to xp, I have been a doctors for since the first weeks of the game, first time I pick up a combat skill and I get shunned. So I just went off to Dath by myself...then people find out your a TKA on Dath, EVERYBODY wants to hunt with you.

I know what you mean, noone wants to hunt with TKA's at fort tusken. I went there and asked this guy if I could join his group..he ignored me. Then a pistoleer comes up and asks and he invites him!

Last night I was at Fort Tusken on Flurry. There were a number of TKA's there , ranging from novice to master. And for each one there was someone complaing about the F_cking TKAs. I was a Master TKA on the past, and once Im done holo-grinding (yes, i admit it) I'll be right back to gain that title again. And I'll be gaining my xp at the fort.

Also, if you ar at the Fort and you see me there, don't hesitiate to ask for invite. I invite everyone.

lmao I aggree hole heartedly with this guy. Dont care if ya have master doc buffs or not. DO NOT TRY TO SOLO THIS GUY... I just did the other day and was like omg!!! when he took me down so fast. The damned thing actually focused on my mind bar, wich was only buffed to 1500 at the time but still... that is the only place it hit me. Chalk it up to a learning experience, and take note... this guy isnt kidding about the Carnage champ...

Now are we talking tossing out unarmed hits like mad or lots of basic attack with occasional KD/Warcry/UH# kinda fun? Curious exactly what tactics people are using as after I can save up a bit of cash for some food, spice and meds I was considering going. have a MTKA friend who I'm sure would join me for a bit of fun *grin*

In reguards to people complaining about TKA's at tusken... Well, they can go fly a kite. Both TKAs and Commandos get yelled at constantly. Even so, those same xp "hogging" players save a lot of lives once the death spawn hits. Have no doubt, whether your a TKM or TKN, you will need help at some point. Just the same - any other player will too. I would rather see 3-4 TKA's tanking in the tunnels, then the majority of large pets people use as tanks.

Once I had 4/1/3/3 I more or less stood back until death spawn. I would let everyone know that I was a TKA and that I would knock down / warcry for everyone. I don't know how many times I laughed my arse off, running at full blast, and then clothes lining a tusken.

As for the question revolving around composite armor being mandatory. Yes and no. You could go around tusken in your boxers until Warlords start making their presence known (6-7 at the fort at a time). This is generaly a 10 minute or less warning (then again, this depends on how long everything is cleared). At tusken I wear a cheap hunting set of composite armor, asside from an 80% kenetic / 72% base chest plate. The set ran maybe 250k total after all was said and done. There are many good armorsmiths that can make you a good kenetic set of ubese for a fraction of the cost. Even if the set has 50% kinetic it will be worth avoiding the frustration of being revived and buffed constantly.

As for combat hits and the like... If you can warcry the Tusken with ease, then you've got a better chance to KD them (at least in my experience, I've been able to KD more tuskens if I've executed warcry succesfuly. I can explain this to where it makes sense, but I'm sure most will figure it out). KD + dizzy + hit2. Even at TKM I use hit2 more so then hit3. If you're running across commoners/raiders, KD + Dizzy isn't really required if you're using hit2. Cheifs, Warlords, Snipers, Brutes, Deathlords, etc... You'll want to make an attempt at knocking these down. If everyone is focussing on your target, switch to the next and kd+dizzy. Depending on how much attention I am giving to my victim, I may or may not have VK's equiped when I KD/Dizzy. Whether you'll have them equipped while you're using hit2 is obviously up to you. Moves and specials have to revolve around the terrain and surrounding hostiles. Obviously spamming hit2 w/ half mind, while you're surrounded by 2 death lords and a brute, isn't the best idea. While you could come out of it alive, chances are there are more tuskens waiting to spawn or attack.

KraytDragonMan:

As for your armor blocking most of the damage by the Carnage Champ... I have no doubt that good kinetic armor can block the majority. However, when you get hit up to 1500 bleed w/ over 400 seconds durration, along with the amount of damage and precision striking the CC has - then we're on a whole different field. On a side note: A full set of composite armor, VKs, muon, and fishak = good bye mind. It is obvious that many TK's have in fact incapped themselves for this very same reason. Whether or not you have an 80% kenetic helmet on, a CC can still land a headshot for 3.5k dmg which would be more then enough to incap you. The main reason why the CC was brought up and the damage he can cause, is based on how dependant a TK is on their mind pool.

Due to a lack of an editing feature...

When I said "Clone at Last Hope's cloning center..." I must have had a major brain fart. If you're on Starsider you'll obviously find Last Hope quite easily. If not...lol

Common sense points to cloning at the nearest center, despite how many doctors / medics there are on sight. Time goes by quick at the fort

The only problem with fort tusken that I have found is the commando's who seem to be constantly one or two-shotting anything, thus taking all the xp. Of course I was leveling pistoleer at that time (using quite a few fanshots and stopping shots) not TKA so would it be much different now as a tka?

The only time I wear armor is when im either fighting a tusken warlord or other high level tusken. Also the bleed doesnt matter too me because Im also a Novice docter so I can heal the bleed and heal up to 2000 damage.
