Teras Kasi Archive
Thread: Teras Kasi kick ass.
Hey, some guys might remember me as the struggling dude trying to get past unarmed 4. Well....after AGES of grinding, grinding, and yet MORE grinding, I finally made it to TK student...woo. First thing I did was solo 4 of those fiend dudes, took em all out and was amazed to find myself at half/over health, whereas 2 would have killed me beforehand. Now...this isnt even on the TK branch, I`m only a student and I`m finding it a blast, even though I`ll need a lot more XP this time round, it seems to be going much faster then unarmed 4, and I`m actually having fun while levelling up...my question is: is there another big step up when you get to novice?
(on a side note: Was taking part in an raid against imperial on bloodfin server last night, saw a teras kasi master in action...stormies fell like leaves.)
TKA sux bigtime unless your all PvE. I just surrendered my TKA master to go Ranged and CH and why do this ? Well a TKA will loose ANY duel if he fights a ranged player UNLESS he exploite the TEF bug and sneek atatck.
Im not kidding here, iv been master for a long time. Maybe yes u get lucky and might in a bigger PVP be abel to kill 1 but 1 vs 1 your toast. I tryed kill a pistoleer using sprint to get to him i used 2 pets and stims to heal my self but never even got in range to hit him.
So lets prey the new combat system will make melee better to play , cause im sad to surrender my TKA master.
going ranged is just playing into their hands.
Sure you cant beat a ranged person in 1 on 1 : I dont believe a shaolin monk would beat a man with a gun, firing from a distance. Its a lot more challenging being a tk then ranged, who WANTS to win 100 percent of the time, and fire from a distance like a wuss? thinking, strategy is needed, from what I`ve seen.
exactly. I had a BH (special build) and i rocked in pvp. But it just got soooo boring. Got all my xp in less than a week. Almost died of boredem. No challenge at all.
Now i rerolled on another server, going tka. And i will be going pvp as much as possible when i reach master. I know i won't win them all, but that's the point. You have to use your brain much more than a range fighter. And when i do win, it'll be much more for me cause i earned it. I'm doing things as hard as possible. I'm a twelik, started with 300hp (entertainer) and finally got novice tka before my stat migration is finished. No pets. And all solo. And i'm going rebel, so no AT-ST for me.

That...is why you fail. - Yoda
You didn't die because TK has a problem. You died because _you_ had a problem...but you're not TK anymore and more is the better. One less ranged-mentality person not willing to think outside of the box enough to make TK shine like polished silver.
If you play their game...you'll lose. Make them come to you...or run away...if you run after them, you deserve to die.
To the original poster: Grats man Grats! You've taken the first step into an incredibly fun and mentally stimulating new world. One where you NEED to use your brains or you'll be staring at the cloning tube more than anything else...but once you enter that zone...that place where you understand your limitations and strengths and _theirs_ as well...my friend, you will be as a sharpened sword spinning in field of wheat...your foes will fall and you will stand over them with calmness and technique as your hallmark.
Good luck
One on one pvp I win 8 out of 10 times in a 1on1 pvp situation. I think you need to address your tactics as I hardly have a problem with being kited. Lunge still works wonders then quickly warcry/intim/dizzy/stun/blind pick your poison. I've found I do best with no armor and no VK.

Sword 0/0/2/0 for a lil added defensive mods.

Be prepared for a long slow crawl XP-wise from TK student to novice. Once you get there, it was well worth the wait. At student, I could barely do solo missions. Now, I'm at Jabba's Palace, breezing through the theme park missions on my own. Hell, I even killed a few Tusken Warlords yesterday (admittedly with the help of my Cowardly Gurreck as a meat shield). I got 3,600 XP for killing one of Valarian's guards.
My wife - also an avid SWG addict just sat there awe-stricken.
So yes, it's worth it...

Yep, the jump to Novice is HUGE...much better than unarmed 3 to 4. You'll be able to solo stuff that would have made you pee at unarmed 4. Not unusual at novice 0,0,0,0 to solo creatures and get 2000 to 3000 XP. Have fun!

Hehe, being jumped by a gang of plasma thiefs is like watching footsoldiers jump a ninja turtle. It's just sad.
