Teräs Käsi in the CU - Mid-level testing - Latest Impressions.



So we have now started testing the profession we all know & love, Teräs Käsi. But what do you make of it so far?


Some questions to consider (but add more as well):

- How does the game play feel?

- Are you finding it viable to tank stuff at your group’s level?

- What concerns do you have? (If any)

- What do you really like?

- Can you see how we are going to fit in to the role of tank?

But remember to add more then that, just used those as something to start with.

no, not really. the creature is running to the rifleman as soon i heal myself or hit COB and do not touch the creature for a 1/10 second.... it's not such a problem at the moment as creatures same level as the group does not kill the range groupmembers so fast but i can't imagine how it will be with high level stuff.

Just trained novice TKA today, then TC5 went down. Did get a chance to kill a couple of nuna's (hehe). Damage output went up a LOT using a VK. And I, too, miss the old animations.


Later on tonight I hope I'll have more than 10 mins to play with my VK.

awww no more stun animations that was my fav one oh well if the combo is cool i can live with it

Gameplay feels much smoother and quicker than it was doing the novice professions.


Tanking with only TKN is ... to say the least... impossible. You take a lot more damage than other professions who can wear armor when they get their certs. However looking at the inate armor abilities you can tell TKM is really going to mean something with the CU.


My concern is that the Black Sun Razorknuckler will be too hard to get, as it's not written in the weaponsmith certifications. I'm hoping the devs explain to us how we can get the knuckler and I hope it's not overly difficult or I will be very disapointed.


I love group play and I love the aspect of being able to TANK without armor. I can definately see how we will be able to tank, eventually. Dabbling in TKA will be extremely difficult though


I'm having a lot of fun right now in the CU, and it's great to know TKA is far from becoming an FOTM. I was in a group of 8 and I was the only unarmed fighter in the bunch! It was awesome. They found my jokes about our lack of tanking ability amusing My game name on TC-5 is Merciful if any of you unarmed combatants want to group up and die together

Dosnt feel as fluid..

- Are you finding it viable to tank stuff at your group’s level?

It isnt to bad

- What concerns do you have? (If any)

How fast will we really be. Swordsman have more speed then we do.

Smugglers should get General Melee speed/accuarcy not unarmed. Possible lower the speed mods a bits and bring TKM closer to being actually masters of Unarmed combat. Or at least a speed cap.

Lack of combat specials

The razor knucklers will be to easy to get.

- What do you really like?

There is nothing I really like TK wise all though dont think anything is bad. I remain skeptical

In PVE - Yes

In PVP - No, will need testing but that kind of testing will be difficult.

actually, if you add up a TKM's general melee speed and unarmed speed, our total is +90, I think

swordsman is 100(according to kodans character builder)

Its quite possible that weapon speed will make the over all difference , but in the current system every professtion can hit 1 p/s so weapon speed dosnt really mean a thing

The razor knucklers will be to easy to get. from what what ive heard you will need to loot schematic 4 razors at dwb and the you need the nightsister vibro untis from the ns that spawns once every recet wich will be alot harder post cu

They're still in the first week of testing, they don't have all the animations ready yet....I'm not even bothering to play it right now because I'm afraid of being disappointed. I'll wait a couple of weeks.

Yes, I must wait longer. Maybe when the blue frog hands out Professions like candy. Because currently the progress is WAY TOO SLOW. In the amount of time it took me to get pistols 2 in TC5, I could have gotten Novice Pistoleer in Live.

Its bloody rediculous.

Or am I missing out on some big secret?
