Do stormies even have a melee weapon? And lets face it, they praobly don't have enough room in their heads to use more then one weapon... inefecticly at that 
Oh do DTs do stun damage in melee? I know they pull out those batons but I've never checked their damage type.

First of all, be a good law abiding citizen and let the stormies be!
In the case that you were fighting a traitorous rebel.. or some similar NPC that wont switch to melee. unarmedlunge1(or 2, if m brawler) when they kneel, run in and dizzy/kd them, wail away. pwnage! ![]()

What i find most annoying is when a creature or NPC gets down to 1% health and decides to turn tail and run, and manages to get over 100 meters away before you can even move, then you have to chase it over hill and dale trying to knock off the last little bit of ham.

Hmmm...
Sounds like the people who are ranting about it, dont like melee fighting. As has been said you can lunge at a creature from quite a distance to stop it from running and I usually force a posture change before they start to run so that I don't have to go chasing themI just wait until they have about 10% ham then lunge.
If you don't like running after creatures that leg it out of combat range before you can move then do what I do and carry a small sidearm, i only need to get to 64m range then not 20m for my lunge..
Oh, and one more thing which I find amusing and which helps alot is to stand 20m from the enemy and do /intimidate until intimidation sticks as this does not actually agro the creature at all
run in to the creature and perform blind, stun, a couple of unarmed hits and then force posture change and take a step back for a while to heal damage before moving back in to close range.. Works a treat, keeps you alive, keeps statuses applied to the creature and gives you a break every now and then to heal and reapply /intimidate.. Im TK 0/0/1/0 with Master medic and I can hunt on Dantooine without buffs at the moment, and to be honest I'm doing real well.. Not the first time I've been up TK and probably wont be the last but one thing I know from experience is...

Heh did you ever try to take on those roaming squads of about a dozen STs with a TKA? Its pretty cool. They form a circle around you and fire away and as you move the circle more or less moves. It kinda reminded me of the way themobile infantry guyskilled the bugs in the starship troopers movie. And its alot smarter than what they used to do. Before they were like a bunch of agent smiths trying to take down neo. They would all gather round so I can demolish them with my spin attack. Now the poor bastards have to watch me kill their friends one at a time until its their turn.

This is the very reason that i have kept my Marksman Pistols 4. I know it's not very TKA-like, but when a creature starts to run away, i pull out my uber sliced Scout Blaster and finish the job.

1 thing that pisses me off is that stormies do use melee..... but only if you are a ranged combatant...
try whip a pistol out and shoot a couple of shots and most of the times they turn up TKA

Well, if you were a good, law-abiding citizen then you wouldn't need to worry about if Storm Troopers use Melee or Ranged, because you would be fighting alongside them to put down those Rebel Terrorists that are making it unsafe to live in the Galactic Empire by bringing their war to all corners of the Galaxy.

I tell ya what, STs are trained to primarily engage the enemy at a distance with a ranged weapon,. So using that logic if a TKM comes and tries to beat me down, I am going to get distance between me and him so I can incao/kill him w/o gettting damaged. Common sense. Remember the Star Wars realm is a technologicallyadvanced place, where firarms are the great equalizer, not sticks, swords anf fists. I am a TKM/Master Pistoleer, you have 250 Skill points if an ST is giving you ranged hell, then suck it up and shoot back.

I don't know about the rest of you TKAs but Im sick of NPCs (mostly stormies) running away from me when Im fighting them. I know it makes sense that if something as awesome as a Teras Kasi artist was coming at you ready to destroy you with just his fists you would run but this is a game and there needs to be balance here. Most other NPCs I have found will fight me with melee attacks instead of running away shooting. Storm troopers however will just keep running and shooting. Its very frustrating. Something needs to be done about this like have them fight like other NPCs and get out a melee weapon when they are being attacked by someone using melee weapons. Right now its garbage.

Note... Lunge1 forces someone to kneeling. Lunge2 doesn't make them kneel at all, it knocks them down.
If you can do a Lunge2 then run up and dizzy them, they are screwed. No getting up, and now you can UAH3 like crazy on them, with the prone damage bonus.

A real TKM doesn't pick up ranged combat
To me theres nothing worse then a ranged weapon.... blah
