Thread: Anyone who says tka is overpowered is obviously not a tka PROS vs CONS

If you lose mind you should migrate better or get buffed.

What does that mean, you don't want to put it in pro because you just don't want to? TKA speed is definitely a pro.
As to your "list":
- Damage which is dependent on our speed: What does this mean anyway? This applies to EVERY combat profession in the game.
- Best attack hits random pools: Again, applies to most combat professions, and every melee profession.
- A headhit attack which is as good as committing suicide: At leastTKA hasone...in addition to body hit AND leg hit.
- Low State Resistence: TKA is tied for last or is second-to-last inall but one of state defense ratings you mention, not by itself (Only worst of all in one stat). You also neglect to mention the 57 toughness...
As far as your cons about speed and mind, well, these are hardly TKA-specific, they apply to nearly every combat profession.

100% agree.
Here's a good PRO/CON list when comparing TKA against other melee (and this should be more accurate):
Pros
Can target any pool
Can land every state
Highest toughness
Gets meditate
High ranged/melee defense
Fastest profession
Cons
All pool-specific attacks are weak
No area effect state attacks (all other melee professions have at least one)
Weak evasion abilities; defense acuity doesn't seem to work well
Only one damage type
Low state defenses
No bleed attacks
For pretty much every advantage we have there's a corresponding disadvantage. This is why TKA works so well, and why it's considered one of the most balanced combat professions.
Some notes on Trucho's lists... Being able to KD and lunge isn't an advantage since you can get both from brawler, which means every melee profession gets a KD and a lunge. I KD things all the time as a fencer, using 1handlunge2 (it's one of my favorite fencer moves). Also, anything with low armor and low defense against kinetic will fall to any melee profession because every melee profession uses mostly kinetic weapons.
for example, 92 points are required to Master TK, while something like doctor, BH, CH or even BE, require many many more points to be stuffed into requirements.
I think this is something that gets overlooked, and perhaps it is as much of a CON to the other professions, as it is a PRO to TKM, but that just illustrates how unbalanced the current system is.
Players are not stupid people, they find the most advantageous professions, and they dump their points into them. This is why you see every second player on servers is a TKM or Master Fencer, yet how many (for example) master rangers or BH do you see? I would hesitate to guess that you probably see a 10:1 ratio.
The fact that TK can dish out every state, and do it quickly, and inflict a ton of damage at the same time, when compared to some of the other professions, lets use pistoleer as an example, which has no states, 1 kd that doesn't work very well, and does less damage (than tkm) and has pretty much no defense other than dodge, but has the same amount of required 'base' points as tkm... should be a sign that something is fubar. whether that is tkm being too strong, pistoleer being too weak, or the devs being asleep at the wheel.. I don't know.. but something is wrong.
