Thread: Hologrinding TKM vs True TKM

Hehehe.... honestly.... for the amount of Teras Kasi Artists in the galaxy, do you really think they do it because of a stupid holocron? Or because Teras Kasi Artists are just so incredibly powerful in PvP that no other crappy profession interests them?
2/0/4/4 Bounty Hunter on Kauri ... this character sucks lesser bols, I quit PvP because he sucks in Melee... so I did this character:
TK Master, Master Doc on Ahazi ... in 1 week I died 3 times in PvP and killed over 30 players in PvP.
I chose TK Master because they were the ones always killing my Bounty Hunter... and now I'm experiencing the power! I will never delete or drop that profession until it gets nerfed.
The fact that I like Martial Arts and Japanimation has never crossed my mind when I chose TKA ... it's all about the power! The true power of defeating anyone I want in under 5 seconds!
So umm... if you meet a hologrinder TKM ... tell him/her I said hi because that probably represents a small majority of the people... either they get TKM and stick with it because they are powerful, or dropped it really because they are hardcore Jedi fans.
As for the TK, I abhorred moving up the unarmed tree, and while I did it more than once (twice to be exact for smuggler, dropped it, then for commando) I decided, what the hey! I started my quest for TK today out of pure fun, and it's actually been fun! The grind to TK Student was rough, but getting knockdown 1 was a big thing. Nothing like walking up to a MOB, smacking 'em so he falls down, screaming at him, and then beating on him!! It definitely makes a wookiee feel like, well, a wookiee!!
Being a wookiee I feel like TK is much harder since I can't wear armor, and I kind of like it that way. Sure it would be nice to be able to go out with some composite and not worry so much, but that takes away from the fun. I'm definitely a True TK (hopefully TKM at some point) and I'm looking forward to becoming a full melee character

you guys are behind the times.
TK is out and riflemen/melee is in.
get with it.
Hmmm... I wonder where I fall? I am not doing TK because fo a holocron, but I didn;t set out to become one either. I was originally just an artisan. But then I startedto need animal resources fo rmy goods. But I didn;t want to waste XP for each type of weapon and buying a new weapon all the time, so I just worked on unarmed. Next thing you know(about a month later), I was opening up TKM. Mine wasn;t really a dedicated choice or one forced on me...mine was more of a 'oh wow...look what i became' situation.

ROFL this is the PERFECT Flavor of the Month statement LOL
i am at quite the impass on this subject. it is a bit of an oxymoron for me. you see a LONG LONG time ago in a galaxy far far away, i made a promise on the SWG boards BEFORE they became what they are now. when they were public boards just discussing what the game might be and might become. back when people were waiting in line to be among the first beta testers...
that promise was i would do WHATEVER IT WOULD TAKE to become a Jedi. i did not care HOW hard, HOW long, HOW time consuming. i SWORE i would become a Jedi, and i am still working to make that promise come true.
that having been said. as of yet, none of my holos have told me to master TKA. i am doing it because i want it almost as much as i want a Jedi character. here is the kicker for me, by the time i open my Jedi slot i will be to many professions what the OTHER hologrinders are to TKA. a flavor of the month, a visitor, a tourist...a hologrinder ![]()
i have to agree with your friend on the assessment of the grind to Jedi. we (the soul-less, hologrinders) are going to do whatever it takes to open that Jedi slot because we have made a promise to ourselves (and some of us were dumb enough to make that promise to othersin writing on a public forum).
the road to TKM is a long and difficult one. 'long is the road, and hard, that from out of the dark leads to light'. i LOVE being a TKA and will not drop the profession no matter what OTHER professions the evil-blue-cubes tell me to master, however TKA is just ONE profession. to master TKA i have to master TKA. to open my Jedi slot i have to master the FOUR professions the glowing-dictators command, and then i have to start grinding ALL of the other professions until i stumble on the hidden 5th.
i am not trying to take anything away from TKA. again i LOVE the profession and will continue to master and STAY a master, it is just at in the way of a difficult to grind profession, Jedi takes the cake
with that said, TKM has been fun...really fun. I went in and thought about dabbling in it, just to see if i liked it, however, the more i got into it, the more fun it became.
I would be interested in seeing if TKArtists have any credo or beliefs in the SW universe. But for me, right now, I see myself as a ranger first, and TKM second.
Well, I have to admit, I took Teras Kasi because a holocron told me to.
