Thread: Hologrinding TKM vs True TKM
So what catagory do I fall under? Part-timer? TKA Tourist? None of the above?
I started TKA because, well, as a Master Smuggler, I needed brawler 4000. Nothing else realy interested me besides Pistoleer. I literally "fell" into TKA by dropping the pistol everytime the enemy closed with me out of habbit (good way to earn both the pistol and unarmed XP, plus it seemed "in-character"). Now it's a given, as soon as the meele MOBs get up-close and personal, I pistol whip them to the deck and switch to VKs to mop em up while the're down.
Yeah, I have Armor I barely use, and sure there are weapons I could whip out and slaughter the scum I'm pummelling (/lowBlow;/LastDitch), but I dont cause... I dont always feel like it.

Nuthin bother me more than holo DE's. I never saw another DE before chrismas holos. Now I see em everywhere.
While this is a tad off topic... I STILL never see DEs, haha. Back right after release I was one of the first DEs on the server (back when Kor Vella actually had people in it). I remember selling my first mouse droids for 3000c, and my fugitive trackers for even more!
I'll admit, I'm sort of a Holo TKM...but not how you think. When I decided to start my grind I realized I'm gonna need to protect myself. So I started looking at Fencer. Well after getting 2 boxes, my damned sword broke (bad repair). So I went up unarmed. Once I hit Novice TK, just novice mind you, I knew I'd never ever ever ever ever ever ever drop TK. It's the perfect class for a holo grinder. You can still participate in hunts and just generally defend yourself, without sucking up a ton of skill points, so you still have the flexability to grind those things the evil little boxes tell you to grind.
So yes, I'm hologrinding, and a TKM, but not cuz the box told me to
(BTW so far my holos have been Smuggler and Chef, haven't used my third yet.)
Hologrinding's not such a bad thing. I have to admit Im following the mysterious voice in the blue cube. But the great thing about the holocrons is, they make you try out new profession you might not have ever tried. My first holo said Master Swordsman. I would have never even considered that one. Now, I absolutely love swordsman. Im going to try my best not to give it up. Master Scout was second. (did that in a day) now the 3rd is tka. Something I probably wouldn't have tried either. But after my great experience with swordsman, Im really looking forward to trying out this new profession. ![]()
I never done hologrinding and don't think I ever will just because it's not my thing.
After mastering Bounty hunter on my first char I got a second account and decided I would make a pure pve character that only needed to tank mobs and kill them fast.
I'm currently novice tka and novice fencer and gonna get them both to master and so far I'm loving it to hit things with my bare hands and feet.
I don't care how long I have to grind to get master tka but after getting it I don't think I'll ever give it up.
Heh, well how about those of us that are both? I started this game to be a Bounty Hunter, but like many, I swore I would do whatever I had to do to be a Jedi. I was also very interested in the Teras Kasi proffession and always intended to make a TKA character once I hit Master BH (this was when getting MBH took about 200+ hours for investigation alone).
Well then came the Holocrons. As fate would have it my fourth (and final) Holocron was TKM. I've held on to TKM ever since, and will as long as I can. Yes, I'm grinding proffessions, but I plan on keeping TKM as long as I can, which means until I go for MBH (I never finished investigation last time). With the changes to the unlocking method coming up, I've decided to stick to combat proffessions since I loathe crafting (BE nearly drove me insane, I'm just glad SOMEbody likes crafting). By the time I finish them allI will either have unlocked or the method will be changing. In any case I won't be dropping TKM until I absolutely have to, and then I'll probably level one of my alts up as one.
So in short, I'm both. I'm a Hologrinder but I love being a TKM.
Im doing the holo grind, and even though It the cube didnt say tka, I decided to do melee professions while I have master combat medic, though I'll have to drop some of cm skills.
You know what I hate, people b!tching about what other people do. Im having fun, tka is awesome. I plan to come back to it after the holo grind is over along with cm.
Unless people are in some way stopping your game play, you have no right to b!tch about what we do....with "our" time. Dont like, dont play.
