Thread: TKM in duels. TKM in PvE. Stop Whining.

I have seen alot of people whine about TKM in PvP lately. Let me tell you, its simply not true. Since I hit TKM I have lost three times in duels, out of maybe a hundred. THREE TIMES. I can absorb any damage, I dueled another TKM the other night for 20 minutes before we both gave up. If you use all the tools you have (Stun, Intimidate, Use Dizzy1 after using KD2, always KD when standing up, Blind). I have beaten Three Jedis, two wer einto Padi, the third I had a bit of help on, but was a Dark Guardian, even a CM or two. One of my losses came to widely proclaimed one of the toughest mothers ont eh server, who was a Master Fencer, in which case my Mind Buffs ran out, and I was slowly worn down. The other time I had a series of Nasty DoTs from weapons. One on One, TKM are great, my only complaint being the strength of armor, but that is being fixed (You know how long it takes to wear someone down 50 Ham ponts at a time in a pool of 3k ) I will telly ou this right now, if you are equipped properly with moderate armor, and okay buffs, TKM can stand up to ANYONE.

In PvE, we hit so fast, and against lightly armored opponents, they drop like flies (2400 Damage Every Second using Hit3 doesn't hurt)This morning, I tanked a Giant canyon Krayt Unbuffed for thirty minutes, our toughness is great, PowerBoost is awesome, and at the end of the day, simply meditate away the wounds.

Anyhow, I feel like this was a half-thought out rant, but anyhow, TKM is just fine. Stop whining before the Devs notice we exist.

By the way, I am only a TKM/Medic/Certain Lines of Smuggler/Merchant

I've just started doing TKA, and I am so pleased I did, so far I have mastered Rifleman, Scout, and I got fed up with BH as I kept getting my @55 handed to me on a plate. I'm a lot happier now that I have started the TKA profession.

Jasef I would love to know how you tanked the Krayt unbuffed. I'm assuming you were just autoattacking the whole time as just using a few specials would have incapped yourself, especially as I also assume you were wearing armour to protect from its attacks - cause while CoB aint bad it's nowhere near asgood as Fencers.

Last Krayt I attacked was the one that spawns as part of the Scythe quest and despite being armoured, buffed and using Brandy, me and my mate still spent ages taking it down - I was doing mind hit's to complement his rifleman attacks which also take out mind.

Sol, remember our duel in bestine... we both gave up lol

As far as PvE goes, I like TKM much more, I haven't competed with Swordsman much but when hunting Black Sun I easily outdamaged Pikeman... My statement is that we easily hold our own in PvE, although SBD's get irritating.

Oh for the Krayt....

I had my Encumberance Sliced Composite on, and I used a trio of Intimidate, Stun, and CoB, that kept me pretty safe, I had Powerboosted before, so it was smoothgoings until that ran out, afte rthat I had to watch my Ham's much more carefully, healing here and there. I racked up some Impressive BF, but it was still not THAT difficult. When fully buffed Juvvy's drop fast, but you will definitely need help on the larger ones as you just simply cannot deal out enough damage to kill it before your buffs run out.

PVE: TKA = Good, Swordsman = Better

PVP: is ruled by certain/limitied professions atm, and if you fight someone who is actually very knowledgeable of what they're doing and their profession, TKA have a really hard time fighting. And jedi were a joke pre-patch w/ the exception of the higher end Jedi. The main problem, as you stated, is the 80% kinetic Composite Armor which everyone has because of the situation of the game atm. TKA has a great meditation line, (FOW is pretty useless now, other than PVP).

The problem comes w/ the armor and that PVP is impossible w/out buffs and a good set of armor. People that PVP are people that have certain templates (we all know what they are) and professions that offer "different"damage types. Which giventhe opponent has those factors and any medic skills (StimC's are Brutal) TKA are only left with /unarmedheathit 1, targeting the mindpool, because it takes a VERY long time to whittle down a person's action or health bar. Butin the timeit takes you to drop their mind, given that a worthy PVPopponentuses2 Vasarian Brandys, 3 Vagnerian Canape, Moun, andeven those DMG reduction foods beforehand, your mind (due tonasty spamming ham) and most likely them targetting your mind pool already is unbalanced. In the time it takes you to break their kinetic armor and mind buffs (not including entertainer buffs) you will most likely lose in a 1 on 1 duel, let alone us actually fighting in riads.

True,we have stun armor and PSGs to prevent stun damage but most would agree that only kinetic dmg given the current state of the game is hurting TKA,.

My recommendation is to wait until the combat rebalance (armor rebalance) and we can see how we fair, because given the way we are and if your opponent is knowledgeable in their strengths, TKA do not fair that well. Lets hope this combat revamp does actually even things out.

I became a tkm a few weeks ago and am just now beginning to pick up tips and skills from some friends who have been tk's for months. And now that I am becoming more skilled with this prof. I can also say that a skilled tkm is very difficult to beat. I can never duel a tkm 1on1 without giving up half way through. In pve, no we cannot quite compare with a swordsman, but hey, we can pretty much do all the same things they can.

dont make me pwn joo all with my 1337 template

swordsman master brawler TKM, its fun, and awesome for PVE, average for PVE

i can take anything down pretty much ( yea including fencers, can you say PSG? lol), except for combat medics :/

to be honest TKM in PVP blo0ws **edit**'n'balls, cause combat medics will own anyone no matter what

but its good and balanced, so im keepin it

we all know people just try to kite TKM's or any melee for that matter, and i dont blame them, but unarmed lunge 2 does work, so for me, Master Brawler is worth it. Plus the fact that even though i dont hit them, Using Warcry2 on them at any moments notice is fun as well. Nothing like someone thinking they are lagged while standing there helpless and unable to do anything but run is worthwhile

I love the way all the talk goes round and round about Teras Kasi pvp uberness, Swordsmen pve uberness, and Fencer defense uberness.

Me and my Pike buddies are like flies on the friggin' wall. We're not talked about, we're not envied, and we're not feared... by anybody. Nor do we contribute anything meaningful to the game - we're kinda our own little posse of Jerry's Kids. We're kinda like Canada in NATO - cheering for the big boys, or doing our own thing altogether (no, that's not a slam on Canada - them Canucks are pretty good neighbors, really ).

Enjoy being good at *something,* my friends....

I envy pikemen, since I watched a pikeman take out 3 buffed people at once in PvP (He used intimidate@ brawler but the rest was al pikeman), I got talking to him after wards and he spend millions on skill tapes. Called himself a sucker for punishment, had been playing pikeman for months, but let me tell you pikemen used correctly is brutal, so here is the pat on the back you were looking for

TKM is awesome in PvP and PvE.. I could spout so many stories and post screenies of me taking on 7+ people at once.

I prefer TKM/MBrawler/Doc 4030 over my Stacked Fencer template.
