I can see it now, a master of martial arts walks up to a jedi master, fists flying.....the jedi raises his saber and lobs off the TKA's limbs... like a hot knife through butter.
AAAAHHHH *WAKE UP* the TKA was made to own jedi, of course, this makes sense why wouldnt someones fists be the perfect weapon against a jedi weilding a LS that can cut through a blast door.
Im not saying jedi dont need a downfall, Im sayin TKA doesnt make sense. And dont flame me, i was one of the firstTKM on my server.
awaits the many 1 star ninjas hiding in the bushes.

I like to think of the Teras Kasi as being weilders of the force themselves, not choosing sides in a struggle against light and dark, finding balance in meditation, then enforcing that balance in the force. Something of a agnostic militia if you will. Strange, I know, but I find it amusing.

I agree, Jedi should be able to own melee fighters. We're talking about a lightsaber here. With a few hits a lightsaber could cut any weapon in two. TKM's would loose their f'ing arms for crying out loud.
If anything, I believe a Jedi is most deadly close up. Ever see the movies? They own in melee combat. Using a sword (lightsaber) is a melee fighting style. Jedi are melee fighters, and should own like no other profession can there.
I think either the devs got lost thinking that just because a Jedi can block blaster bolts that is means all they are good at is ranged defense. I'm sorry, but if I had a lightsaber and someone came at me with their fists they would drop faster than you could think "he might have a chance".
Jedi being vulnerable to melee professions with weapons that can block a saber, yes, that would make sense. Being taken out by someone who's every part can be sliced like butter makes no sense. TKM's would loose their limbs fast! Maybe if they wore lightsaber resistant armor they could prevent this, but as it stands, no way.
The only argument I see holding weight is that a TKM can enter into a Jedi and disarm him/her before the blade comes all the way around to cut them.
Grant it, in every way do I think that a TKM would definitely hold alot of weight against an unarmed Jedi, but a Jedi with a lightsaber... who the f*** are you kidding?

The devs are trying to make it so Jedi aren't unstoppable. Reguardless of the movies, thats just not balanced right at all. Unfortunately thats probably not going to happen.
If you ask me, Jedi should have never been a playable profession. And if it had to be, there should have been a limit to the number of the per server. In my opinion, and I know this has been talked about before, the game's downfall was when they released the method to becoming a Jedi and they gave everyone a Holocron for Christmas. When they said becoming a Jedi was "different for every character,"...I dunno, I was expecting something a little more than how it is now.
I agree that TKAs shouldn't be able to put up a big fight against Jedi. But then again, neither should ANY other profession...besides Jedi, that is.
A Jedi just wasn't meant to be a playable aspect of a game such as this. MMORPGs are all about balance. Theres no possible way to balance something such as a Jedi. It just can't be done. And if somebody did have a method, the Jedi would probably complain. No offense to honorable Jedi out there, you all know who you are.

technically TKM are neutral weilders (internaly or otherwise)of the force 'force of will' for instance is actually a *force* move.

A long time a go (4000yrs) AJedi student whit hes lightsaber was beaten by hes master who only used a wood stick... The master used the force to make the wood stick almost unbreakable...
The TK'sdraws hes power from within and might even draw upon fragments of the force to make hes arms/body more resistance to lighsaber... The TK altso might block blasters whit hes barehands...
Its more to TK than martialart moves and physical power,...

I find it rediculous that people expect a prof that can be mastered in one day and is incredibly common to kill a high level jedi.

What I find ridiculous is how someone can expect to implement a thing such as JEDI into a game and expect it to not upset the balance. People who say "Jedi SHOULD be unstoppable, they're JEDI!" are just proving that Jedi should NOT be a playable 'profession.' Sure there are normal professions that have an 'edge' over others, but none of them are unstoppable.
In my opinion, adding in Jedi was a horrible, horrible mistake.

Agreed With Ny. Go on test and take a few Master BH's against a Jedi and tell me they should be in the game.
As far as TKM Vs. Jedi- Diddnt a planet start practicing TK after their homeworld was all but destroyed by the Jedi? Arent we BUILT to counter jedi's?

Some have said that the game just wouldn't be Star Wars without Jedi. First off, I think a few uber NPC Jedi Masters (maybe in more logical places besides out in the middle of nowhere) are all the Jedi we need. Especially given the time period this game is SUPPOSED to be set in. But the devs seem to have given up on that.
Second, the game was just fine before player Jedi was added in. Nobody was running around grinding away 32 professions, and nobody was complaining about how their new Jedi that they spent months unlocking isn't all it was cracked up to be.

It's really kind of a silly argument to say that "because jedi have lightsabers, they should pwn TKA". In the EU, TKA were formed to regulate jedi, If one went astray, the TKA were there to put them down. If we want to be realistic in the real world here, we can say that ANY ranged proffesion should kill ANY unarmed proffesion. You don't bring a knife to a gunfight and all that.

It's funny when I hear people say lightsabers can cut through anything. As far as melee weapons are concerned, they're made out of durasteel alloy like in knights of the old republic, it's strong enough to resist a light saber. So then it all comes down to one thing. Who's the better fighter? Jedi's are not simply the better sword fighters just because they're jedi. They're the best because they can use the force to heal themselves or to damage their enemies or even stun them.
