This is a familiar type of question, I'm sure, but I will be grateful for fresh replies...
I started this game with a Scout/Ranger focus and took on TKA as my combat skill, which I have mastered. Master Ranger has been a blast, but I am giving it up to get a better template for PvP. Don't know yet how much Scout I will keep, if any. TKM will remain my principal combat mode, whatever I train in will be to support that art. The advice I've recieved in game so far has been to master Brawler for the extra benefit, Intimidate2 especially, or to go up onehanded to get the Fencer dodging branch. Both seem like credible plans. Would the worthy forum members be willing to comment on one vs the other, or suggest something else?
(I had originally gone up unarmed only, and didn't touch the rest of Brawler. A couple of days ago I soloed an Enraged Rancor Lair, but this afternoon I spent a couple hours in a Corellian meadow beating frogs (gubbers) with a stick. Sheesh. Never thought I'd be there again.)

You have enough points to do Master Brawler and get Fencer defenses, and even take some pistoleer defenses or healing skills, all while staying TKM.

I've found Master Pistoleer to be a good supplement to TKM. Both are pretty quick combat professions.

I would also consider doctor if I were you. With all the poisons/diseases/fires around it helps a lot to be able to heal yourself.
A good template with TKM and doc is 4040 doctor, TKM and 3400 fencer. This gives you lots of KD and ranged/melee defense.

Ok, if you wanna go TKM all the way you can stack the defenses of many profs to get the best out of it:
-Master Fencer: A must
-Pistoleer 0040: Great defenses, only 1 tree. If you do 0044 you'll get great melee defence, but with M. Fencer you're capped.
-Pikeman 0040: Just to add up more resistance, crappy tho.
-Swordsman 3000: +20 to resistances, if you master you get +50 in stun but there're undershirts for that
I think I might be going TKM, Fencer 4440, Pistoleer 0040, N. Medic, Scout 1000, Marksman 0404 but it doesn't look that good with only one master
. Stun is low at 55, but add a +15 stun undershirt and it's +70.

Honestly, with a core of TKM, anything you add to it will be good.
If you want crafter, TKM/Crafting makes you good at both.
TKM/Doctor = awesome
TKM/More Combat = awesome
...template away to your hearts belief.
I believe TKM is the most modular profession, and goes well with any type of template.

Really, it depends on what you want to do with the character:
- Do you want to stay pure melee? Get Master Brawler
- Mostly PvE: Do Swordsman
- Mostly PvP: Do Fencer
- I wouldn't suggest TKA & Pikeman
- Do you want to have melee + ranged? Get the Ranged Attack tree in Marksman
- Mostly PvE: Do Pistols
- Mostly PvP: Do Rifleman
- I don't recommend TKA & Carbines
Definitely get as much x000 scout as you can and as much 0x00 medic as you can.

Very true, as one of the only combat professions, the TKM can really stand alone with few pre-reqs. This makes it possible to mix and match a lot

It's almost a shame that everyone wasnts to be a TKM. I remember late last year when there weren't a ton ofTKM's out there. It seemed like once people found out how powerful the profession was, the TK population skyrocketed.
I've been a TKM since last Fall, andabout 6 months ago I picked up Master Doc... I love that combo. Seems like everyone wants to be your friend. lol

It's not so much how powerful TKA is, but how much fun it is.

If I wanted power I'd drop TKM and take up Master Swordsman. As it is, I just really enjoy TKM.

I'll never drop TKM... It has been the only fun profession to master I've ever tried.
As many people has said before me, TK goes well with almost every profession out there. Why? It's balanced. Wish all combat professions were like TKA.
